Many thanks to Paddy for posting this in another thread, and I think it deserves a thread of its own:

Most of us will remember the serious kudos Hayley got for having Pure produced by Giles Martin, and some involvement too of his famous father, the late Sir George Martin. Pure was one of Giles' early record productions and clearly, he knows Hayley well. He's come a long way in the last 15 years, being involved heavily in all The Beatles remixes and re-releases, several famous music artists and some film scores too - achieving International Head of Audio and Sound for the Universal Music Group is no mean achievement. Hayley is mentioned in the UMG Press Release incidentally:
Giles will be based at Abbey Road, the old Beatles recording studio in London, and will have access to the famous Capitol studios in... as alluded to in the quote above ... LA. Now who do we know who lives in LA?
I know it's not much, but at least there is again someone in high places at UMG familiar with and who was deeply involved in Hayley's music - Costa Pilavachi having moved on again. Who knows what if anything will happen as a result? But at least it's something to think about - there isn't much these days, after all!

I can't help thinking about what LA is famous for.
Wild speculation I know, but she must have a reason for being there.

Having played in bands and written jingles from an early age, Martin started his production career working with UK indie bands including Kula Shaker, Monorail and My Life Story. In 2004 he produced Hayley Westenra’s multi-platinum album Pure, the UK’s fastest-selling classical album of all time.
