Haha, Bryn Terfel's name didn't give me a moment's hesitation. I can appreciate great tenors even if I don't actively like them all. But I don't think I would feel comfortable handling Pavarotti And the Royal Festival Hall is one of the easiest of London venues for me to get to - just a short walk from Waterloo station Even if Hayley only sings a couple of songs it will be worth it for me. It has been too long since Cork Slipping through my fingers springs to mind.

How difficult it is depends on where you start from. I'm not sure it is possible to get trains from Waterloo to Leicester at midnight. That's my problem. The best bet for Central London from here is to drive to somewhere that has good public transport links to the centre, leave the car there and use public transport. Stanmore is a favourite with many people from these parts. But things tend to get more difficult after about midnight. Martin D

Now, if Hayley were performing with anyone in Seattle, whether I liked them or not, I'd go. Probably Martin would go if it were more convenient for him. But, Martin's been to quite a few concerts, so it doesn't surprise me he would skip it due to inconvenience.

That's similar to what I did when Hayley guested at Mario Frangoulis' concert in Boston in June 2011. I only went because of Hayley, and had never heard of him before. But I discovered a new voice I liked, though!

I had heard of him, but I hadn't heard much. I heard a tiny clip of Be My Love, and I suppose that was too opera for me at the time, and then there was a CC radio station on Yahoo Music that I would listen to for a while because they'd play Hayley and Josh a lot, and that's where I heard his Come What May and a Spanish song that I thought sounded nice, and I think at that time I considered buying that album, but I can't remember why I didn't. Then I heard him sing You Raise Me Up with her on that Greek TV show, and I didn't care for the arrangement, at least the way he was singing it. But, when I watched the Boston DVD and heard how nice his songs and his voice were, he really began to appeal to me. So, I started looking up more of his music, and when I found Nights in White Satin, I was sold!

I go back a long way with Mario, as does Hayley. He was with Hayley on her 2004 second Pure tour in the UK, and I remember seeing him at the Derngate Northampton with Hayley, the second time I saw Hayley perform. I seem to remember I thought he was OK, probably no more than that. He has gone on to greater things since I think.

Well, she certainly seems to perform in Ireland most often in the last couple of years, so you must be doing something right. Bryn was on with the Mormon TC some years ago now now. I can handle it for a while, but too loud for me. I like gentler voices like Mario's, where he can be very loud and powerful, but also soft and gentle. And his loudness is just right, doesn't sound like a shouting, masculine man-beast. LOL I respect Bryn for what he does, but he's not exactly Pavarotti, who I can handle. Thanks Libby, I did read this the other day but I was attending to something else at the time and did'nt get time to reply. Effort was made and results were achieved and now a track on vinyl from RTE Lyric FM. That has got to be the best result so far, a permanent record of Hayley's relationship with RTE Lyric FM / Marty Whelan / Ireland That'll do.........weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.................

Martin D Well, his performance with Justin Hayward was in 2002, which was before Hayley became famous outside NZ. I still can't believe that some of these things I'm so excited over now were 14 years ago or more... some of Sarah Brightman's stuff being quite a bit more than that! It's funny that I became a fan of Mario and Sarah almost at the same time (well, a year apart), and that now there's a hope that I might be able to see both of them live for the first time, at the same time! I hope so! And to stay on topic, I'd love to see Hayley live again, too.

Not been here for a while. Only found out recently that Hayley is part of the Huawei concert this year. I saw the equivalent show 2 years ago because Katherine Jenkins was headlining. Great show but getting home afterwards is not easy for me. By the time I got the tube from Waterloo back to Euston I had to get a very slow train from Euston back to Coventry, I seem to recall getting home about 2am. Having not seen Hayley in what seems like an eternity, I have bought a ticket and will probably end up taking the car to a tube stop as that will give me a quicker return journey. Be good to see her live even as a guest.

Yes, the Southbank Centre changed the photo to include Hayley, so I decided to repost the link on Facebook and share it here in the forum. Here's the full image: Richard
