There is nothing like an England manager who demonstrates clarity of thought, a sense of purpose, the courage of his convictions and a determination to execute a well-thought out plan and this is nothing like it ! Has he thought of running for PM? Richard

Well I for one am delighted that the Wales football team have reached the semi-finals of the European Championships! It's a fairy story almost matching what Leicester City did in the Premier League last season! Englishman I may be but I will be cheering on Wales (again!) against Portugal in the semis when an interesting sideshow will be the head to head between... Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale. It's even possible for the final to be Wales versus Iceland! It's almost stranger than fiction. Cheers, Dave

Yes well done to Wales for the greatest win in their history and a welcome distraction from other things going on in our country right now. Treachery and backstabbing, who needs Shakespeare when you've got Westminster ! Let's see the Robson-Kanu goal again, featuring the "Cruyff turn."

France's demolition of Iceland 5-2 just emphasises how bad England were. I'd love to predict that Wales will beat Portugal tomorrow but sadly my psychic adviser passed away due to unforeseen circumstances. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_the_Octopus

Wales were beaten 2-0 by Portugal in last night's semi-final. A terrible result, I think Wales should keep replaying the match until they get the result they want. Oh no sorry, that's just referendums isn't it ?! Tonight Germany play France in the other semi. Bet you the Germans win on penalties !!

Yes, only one Leicester City player left in now. Come on France!

France beat Germany 2-0 last night although the penalty did look very harsh on the Germans.

Waving your hands in the air in the penalty area is asking for trouble! I don't thin the ref had much choice.

That sounds like Washington state's governor's fiasco race 12 years ago! And guess, what, that's pretty much what happened (they recounted till they got it, and that was by hand)!
