An advert went out on RTE Lyric FM at 11:59 for the Hayley Westenra NCH Concert just after Marty had done a 2 hour radio show from the Bloom Garden Festival in the Phoenix Park Dublin.
George Hamilton did Marty's normal slot this morning 7am to 10am.

I've moved several posts to RTE Lyric FM Ireland. These include Hayley's interview with Marty Whelan yesterday, 3 June 2016. Richard

I hope none of you concert-goers are England football fans because Hayley will be serenading you throughout the England team's first match in the European Championships on Saturday! It's crossed my mind that the clash may have harmed the concert attendance to some extent, even though it's in Ireland, because some football supporters will want to watch all the matches, wherever their allegiances lie. Cheers, Dave

Don't they have DVR's in Ireland? LOL I've had concerts on TV show days before, and that's never stopped me! Oh, and I recall a certain Tolkien movie being released the day of my flight to Madison, that didn't stop me from seeing Hayley! (The concert was better, anyway!)

There has definitely been a surge in late sales over the last week. I would estimate overall sales to be at nearly 70% now which is great news for Hayley and the event. I am now looking forward to seeing other HWI'ers on Saturday and yes, Dave, I do realise I will be missing England's football match on Saturday. However, if they play like they did in their last friendly game against Portugal a few days ago I will be miss nothing! I was there and the highlight of the match was the Mexican wave. Martin

Question : Is the National Concert Hall in Dublin the venue that Hayley has performed most often in ? I'd have to say yes Comet. Saturday will be my third visit to the NCH to see Hayley and I believe she has played there at least once before. I have seen her perform twice at St James Church London, St George's Church Telford, Gawsworth Hall, Fairfield Hall and Venue Cymru, so I suspect most other places would be a maximum of two. Saturday will also be my fourth consecutive concert in Ireland. Union Chapel seems a long time ago and Gwyl Gobaith (Aug. 2012) a lifetime ago! Cheers Grant

Wh'd be daft enough to let a football match interfere with a Hayley concert? ? Well I could have used that line! Or are you sugggesting that avid football supporters aren't mostly daft? Me and Martin D excepted, of course! I think. Dave

Cheers Grant I have seen Hayley perform at least five times at the Royal Albert Hall, and I know she has also sung there in my absence. But those were all guest appearances; not Hayley concerts as such, so maybe they don't count

I had a quick look at my diary and I think Hayley has played the NCH 6 times so far and next Saturday will be the 7th! The dates I have are; 13/06/2007 04/12/2007(with Paul Byrom) 11/09/2008 08/12/2009 14/06/2012 28/03/2014 Anyone remember a concert before 2007? That was the year of my first Hayley Concert and I had to go alone as there was only one ticket left... Glad I did I missed the one in 2014 as I was away, I booked my holiday just before it was announced! Never mind I am looking forward to Saturday even more now. Tiger
