Just got this in my e mail from Ellie Goulding, Its kinda nice. I have a few of her albums.
Hi everyone
Writing this to you as I anticipate my album release and it feels like I'm holding my breath! I want you to know directly from me, how much your support means to me over the past six years - through everything. You have followed me and helped me on this unique journey from an album I made in a bedroom to an album I made with some of the greatest people in the world. Those people are the ones who understood how I had got to this point through my music and genuinely helped me see what I was capable of as an artist at this point. Sometimes I doubt my abilities (even after everything) and I needed that push. I'm not going to over analyse it, not going to overthink it, all I know is that this album is everything to me and is as much about the future of me as it is the past - I revisit as much as I leave behind. What I'm saying is, it is wholeheartedly me.
You all know my affinity with electronic music and my love of folk and rock from years of learning guitar. You know I will collaborate with Major Lazer as much as I will collaborate with Hans Zimmer. You know the things in this world I am passionate about changing. But mostly I think you have understood my undying dedication to pop music. I know that people hear about me in ways out of my control and maybe sometimes what I really am is confusing. I know that most people follow because they believe in me as an artist regardless. But I've always considered myself as a pop artist. I feel like all I have ever done is put everything I know and love into it and continuing to explore my voice as an instrument I rediscover again and again and its context in powerful songs, and I think people forget that's what I started as - just a voice and a lot of words and feelings I didn't know what to do with. But now I do know... With blood sweat and tears along the way...
And this is how Delirium exists!
It is my most fun and exciting venture yet that I hope you will dance to as much as I do in rehearsals. But mostly I hope you love it as much as I love it. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart (which is doing ok, by the way!)
I'll be seeing you soon...
All my love
