Yes, I've not played that album of Sarah's recently and I used to love it. I'll have to dig it out. Thanks for the reminder.

One of the songs I listed in my first post was All the Heavens, by Third Day. It's a short, but beautiful, acoustic song. There is no music video that I'm allowed to post here, but here is a pretty version by a young lady singing it at her church. It's missing part of the first verse, and it seems there's more guitar-playing than singing. Also, it's kind of hard to hear the lyrics. But you'll still get to hear how nice the song is. When the video finishes, I'm sure Third Day's version will show up so you can listen to that, too.
Two of the other songs I listed were El Shaddai and Thy Word. Here are both by Amy Grant:
(Not the full song)
There were other videos with no shaking and better sound, but this is the one where she sings it closer to the way she did in her original recording; plus the more intimate setting was nice:

Hello Libby! Here's another video of 'All the Heavens' where the words are easier to hear: Richard

Thanks, Richard. Also, if anyone wants to know the lyrics, do a search on Third Day singing the song, and there are several lyric videos to be found. Their version is rather nice too (which is what gave me the idea for Hayley), despite Mac Powell's somewhat rough voice. I just like to use female vocalists when I can, to better showcase how Hayley might be suited to sing a certain song.

El Shaddai is probably the only song by Amy Grant that I like. For the most part, I don't like her voice.

El Shaddai is probably the only song by Amy Grant that I like. For the most part, I don't like her voice. I haven't listened to her in a VERY long time. I was in elementary school when I liked her the most. I think part of it was because in dance class I danced to a song by her. Her type of voice actually went against my stereotype of how a woman's voice should sound, but I just liked her songs. She was the first singer I was ever a fan of, though there was a time where I hardly listened to music at all. So, it was more because I wasn't that into music yet, and I wasn't really judging her voice back then. El Shaddai and Thy Word would both suit Hayley's voice, but I think if I had to choose one, I'd choose El Shaddai. Of course there are plenty of more current female Christian singers these days, but I'm less familiar with them than I am with the ones I knew when I was younger.

All this talk of female Christian singers from the '80s & '90s reminded me of Twila Paris, who does have a nice voice. The song The Joy of the Lord came to mind as a song that might suit Hayley.
I don't care for their ending arrangement, but otherwise this is a great cover of the song:

And what classical crossover singer's repertoire would be complete without The Prayer (on CD, of course)?

If Hayley were to record The Prayer (a recording for her own album that wouldn't later be rejected, of course), who do you all think would be a good duet partner for her? Of course there are numerous possibilities, but I'm not sure who would be the best one.

Hello Libby! I vote for Josh Groban. He made a great recording of "The Prayer" with Charlotte Church, and I've found a couple of live performances on YouTube that you might enjoy! Richard

Hayley has sung this with many different partners, and despite that everybody and their dog sings it, she puts her own stamp on it. My favoutite of the ones I've heard is probably with Bocelli. The power of his voice means that Hayley has to give it real welly. And she does.

While I like Hayley's rendition of The Prayer, Josh Groban and Charlotte Church's version is my favorite. Their version is the first I ever heard way back when and is sung, in my mind, how it should be sung. Groban and Church also sing it how it's written in the sheet music, as well. Sometimes I'm a bit of a tradionalist or originalist(?) in that, for the most part, music should be sung how it is written, or meant to be.

I love his voice and their voices were well matched on Le Note del Silenzio (pretty sure I spelled that wrong lol)
