Thanks Graeme!  I don't like having to use RealPlayer because downloading it often crashes the computers here in the Internet Café. I'm listening to Hayley's performance right now on MediaPlayer, and she's just said "Ireland" with a pronounced roll of the 'r'. Best Wishes, Richard  |

Hi Richard, Hayley is a natural linguist isn't she? German has a rolled "r" too. Tongue goes up towards the roof of your mouth as you use an "r". I listened carefully to Hayley as she was able to say a few words in German in one of her interviews.......pronunciation perfect. Never even occurred to me to go near that theme at the Readings Concert.....sigh....time went like a flash. The part 2 of the Dublin Concert is to be available at www.rte.ie/radio1/inconcert/on Monday July 16th. That will contain the rest of her set. Graeme |
