Simba, ditto what everybody else said. It's still a month or so away. Oh, and after my recent Hayley excitement, forgive me if the prospect of seeing her sing 1 or 2 songs, not live, pales a bit in comparison.

Except this wasn't the case with the rugby world cup when we started talking about it many months in advance, even though I understand it was a bigger event. But oh well, good for you that you got to see her, my happiness until I meet hayley for real will only come from these appearances XD where she's likely to sing new songs.

Yes, it was different when Hayley was the singer of the National Anthem, and I actually got to watch that on American TV. I don't get that channel anymore (it was rudely revoked by Comcast), and I don't think cricket is anywhere near as popular a sport as rugby. And even rugby is behind football (soccer), in terms of worldwide popularity. Also, I don't quite understand this event. The Rugby world cup was the final match in the world cup. This is the opening ceremonies? How many matches are there? So confusing.

Hi everyone, Many thanks to Bob S for starting the ball rolling and Ross for updating us on this event. As one or two have mentioned, we may have to wait a while to discover the extent of Hayley's participation, but here are the Opening Event details: I haven't seen any details yet of which TV channels in which Countries will broadcast the two opening ceremonies (the other one in Melbourne) but it may help if I convert the event times to UTC/GMT, which might make it easier to figure it out for your own time zones (if it's broadcast live). I'm sure someone will check my calculations! 1. Christchurch, North Hagley Park: 6:30pm - 10:30pm NZDT [ 5:30am - 9:30am GMT/UTC] both on Thursday 12 February. 2. Melbourne, Sidney Myer Music Bowl: 7:30pm - 11:30pm AEDT [ 8:30am - 12:30pm GMT/UTC] both on Thursday 12 February. No Hayley in Melbourne of course, but she looks likely to be on early enough to avoid any risk of being dropped from TV coverage in favour of any more famous Australian performers from Melbourne, during the overlapping hour. Here are the relevant links, to the ICC official website for general details of both events, and Future Christchurch for details of the Christchurch event. As for the cricket tournament itself, there are 14 participating Countries: Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, Ireland, New Zealand, Pakistan, Scotland, South Africa, Sri Lanka, United Arab Emirates, West Indies, Zimbabwe ... and the matches are for one day each, spread across 14 cities in Australia and NZ, starting 14 February in Christchurch and ending with the final on 29 March at Melbourne Cricket Ground. There is a 42 match Group Stage followed by Quarter Finals, Semi Finals and the Final. Full details here.I hope that helps. Errors and omissions excepted! Cheers, Dave

Okay, I guess that makes a little bit of sense... Was the Rugby WC that long, though? I know the one for soccer/football is weeks long like that, too, but I don't recall anything like that going on with the Rugyby. Though I suppose the one with Hayley singing was the final match, and I just didn't pay attention till that day...? I guess that must be what it was. It's over 3 years ago now!

What an exceptionally gorgeous picture that is of Hayley, and with a very nice background! I hope that the world gets to see that in connection with the publicity of the February 12th ceremony. BobS
