Sorry it's taken so long to get back, but it has been busy for me. Libby, I love hiking as well on my days off. After spending all week in the office looking at a computer screen, I like to get some fresh air and get all my pend up energy out of my system. But I may not want to be walking around Madison due to the weather. I have been comparing weather information, and Madison is like 20F lower than the temperatures in my area. Madison's good weather is what we experience here in the middle of the night. If Madison's weather goes down hill, it could be an unfathamble weather experience for me. But...if the weather is good Libby, then I'm totally fair game about walking all over Madison. Especially since I've never been to the Great Lakes area. I just want to have some indoor activities as well just in case. Also, how am I going to contact you guys when I get in on Thursday morning? I mean none of us know what we look like, and I don't want to exchange phone numbers if at all possible. Do I just post here when I get in, and you keep a look out? Alicia I agree, if it's poor weather, I won't be walking around either. Poor weather for me means, snow, ice (icy sidewalks, roads, etc), or rain. Cold will only stop me if it's really, really, cold. I walk a lot and often in cold weather, so unless it's absolutely frigid, I can handle it. But if you don't care to join me, I'm okay with that, too. I'll just print out walking directions so I don't get lost. Well, Bill (amptique) and Pete Neamtz (official forum member) each gave me their cell numbers. I don't have internet on my phone, and I don't know anything about using hotel computers, so I won't be getting online till I get back home. I think phone contact is the only way we are going to be able to communicate ahead of time. I would say use text though, that's what I would do, if that is acceptable. It's easier than trying to call and then having to leave a message, if they're not able to answer at the time. It just seems less intrusive somehow, and they can respond as they're able to. Just get the phone # through PM. The thing I'm not sure of is whether to contact people as soon as I arrive at the airport so they know I'll be there soon, and can possibly meet up for dinner (so they'll be prepared), or just wait till I get to the hotel and get checked in and find my room, etc. Any thoughts, Bill? Aaaahh, it's less than 2 weeks away now! It's coming so fast! Libby, feel free to contact us by call or text, whichever is easier for you and whenever you want. We haven't planned anything beyond the concert and lunch at the Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee on the 16th. I'm anxious to meet as many HWI members as possible. This will be fun. BIllR

BIllR Okay, so you will be in Madison by the time I get there on the 17th, I gather? Yes, I'd love to meet all of you who are going, if possible. Including the elusive Larry, whom we know is our expert on meeting Hayley at concerts. As I continue to prepare for my trip, my anxieties go up and down, but slowly the anxieties are starting to fade a bit... mostly. They still rear their heads when I'm feeling the most tired or unhappy (customers at work have been extra obnoxious recently, for some reason. LOL Literally, almost all of them). I'm sure I'll still be very nervous when I get to each airport, and probably the hotel, too (I have a fear of getting lost and looking stupid ). I'm a little nervous about going through security. Are they mean? Impatient? No time for timid young women who look like they're 12? Speaking of which, the way you all can identify me is, look for someone who looks like a teenage girl with longish hair and glasses, all alone, and looking a little lost and extremely unsure of herself. That will be me. Once I find you, I'm sure I'll relax and be fine the rest of the trip. And I'm actually 30, so you'll be in for a shock, I'm sure.

Don't worry Libby. I'm sure once they identify you, your HWI friends will look after you. You know you almost had me thinking about getting tickets and flights to Madison. If there are any left. Just to take care of you (and see Hayley again I'm sure). But I'm sure your fellow Hayliens will look after you and point you in the right direction.

Hi Libby Have an enjoyable trip to see Hayley and don't worry - everything will be fine. Just focus on the fact that you will be seeing, and meeting Hayley in the flesh and all your worries will become incidental.
Take care Martin

I just booked our hotel at the Super 8 Madison South. Since we have a car we decided to go for a hotel farther away from the venue with better prices. It had good reviews so we decided to go for it. I'm not sure when exactly we are going to get to Madison, but I'm sure we'll see people before the concert.

Take care Martin Yes, I'm fully expecting that to be the case once I've finally arrived. Prior to arrival, I won't be able to control my nervousness. I'm hoping that with each step of the journey process, my fears will start to fade. I think the anticipation of the journey and worrying about it is probably the worst part. I feel like I just want to hurry up and do it, get through all the flight parts, so I can focus on Hayley. I do get excited when I think about it, but the worrying has clouded my excitement a bit. It's almost impossible for me not to worry a little bit. I just have to get through the travel, and then I'm sure I'll be fine.

One week left everyone! Are you getting excited?!
I have been doing a count down on my facebook page and twitter account this past week. I heard my Dad playing Hayley's Both Sides Now this morning even though I have not used it in my count down (yet anyways). Due to this trip, I've been telling everyone I meet about Hayley. I have been describing her as a classical crossover artist with big orchestra music. She's a Christian artist. As soon as I put the "Christian" plug, everyone I have talked to says "Oh really! What's her name again? Spell it/Write it down for me." Have you guys had any experiences like this in spreading Hayley cheer? Or is it just the fact I live in the Bible Belt.
Libby, I don't know if you are still having anxiety about the flight, but the security guards I have dealt with are nice, but stern. They have gotten a little inpatient when there is a line a mile long trying to get through security, but otherwise it's all good. You will be fine and proud once you have accomplished past all your nervousness. Besides you will be hanging out with all us cool Hayliens while you are in Madison!
Look forward to meeting everyone in Madison! Alicia

I've had a couple experiences like that, but I too live in the Bible Belt, in central Alabama. What part do you live in Frenchie? It's always nice to see a fellow southerner on the forum. -Taylor i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

Look forward to meeting everyone in Madison! Alicia No, I've never really had that much opportunity to spread "Hayley cheer". Interesting way to put it! Once I did manage to get the attention of one of my friends on FB, whom I used to work with, and he seemed impressed after one song I posted (he never said which one it was, but the last one I'd posted was Never Saw Blue, and I hadn't posted anything else by her in a while). He said, "She has a really amazing voice" and "Where did you hear about her?" etc. I also shared the song Majesty with him because he's not only a Christian, but studying to be a minister. He thanked me for sharing the song, but after that, he never mentioned it again. Oh well. I guess I know how the security people feel then; I deal with lines of customers, and sometimes, one after another turns out to be very annoying. You wouldn't believe how silly adults can actually be until you work with the public. LOL You start to wonder how you yourself turned out to be somewhat reasonable and normal, when it seems like most of the rest of the world are either mean, grumpy, fussy, extremely particular about everything, bossy, pushy, or just plain crazy. It's always fun to discuss these things with your co-workers later, though. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif So, anyway, I can understand where the security people would get impatient. I still don't want them to get mad at me. I'm afraid of being too slow because of my nervousness. At the moment, I'm feeling better about everything, actually beginning to clear my head from the hard parts, and letting myself think more about the Hayley parts! When I do that, I get more excited than scared. I'm going to try my best to take everyone's advice and focus more on that. I'll just have to try to take things one at a time. I've thought things through so much that at this point, my anxiousness is more due to being in a rush to get those parts over with, because I am excited to hurry up and go see Hayley!

I think you've put in a nut shell how most of us feel at this point before a Hayley concert - this time tomorrow, I'll be with Juliette and Martindn at Stanstead Airport waiting for our flight to Cork. BUT I WANT TO GO NOW !!!!!!!

Susan and I plan on having dinner at the Best Western restaurant on Wednesday evening (12/17). If any fellow concert attendees would like to join us, please feel free to do so. I understand that Libby will be arriving at the hotel around 7pm (unless the shuttle driver makes her shovel snow ). We will plan on being at the restaurant around that time. Let us know if you are interested and we will get a table reserved. BillR

I'm getting really excited about meeting you folks and hear Hayley live. I still wonder what she will sing for us and what surprises are in store. We may have a clue when the Cork reviews come in. Let us know if you are interested and we will get a table reserved. BillR Don't hold me to that, in case the planes are late. I hope they're not, and shouldn't be, if there's no snow. Also, we should all start discussing some details in this thread, where all of us who are going can see it, at least the ones staying at the same hotel. Alicia wanted to know when we would leave for the concert. The doors open an hour ahead of time, and Alicia will want to get there early to get a good seat. Those of us with table tickets won't have to worry as much, but I was thinking that I might leave with Pete Neamtz, since neither of us are keen on waiting hours out in the cold; that was part of the reason I accepted his offer of the table ticket (aside from wanting to see Hayley as close as possible). But Alicia will probably want to ride with somebody, even though she does not have a table ticket. It is supposed to be frigidly cold, so even though it's not likely to be snowing, it could still be icy, since whatever snow falls on Tues. morning doesn't seem likely to melt. Another thing to discuss is where and when to meet the other fans who are not staying at the BW, afaninchicago (what is your name?), Katie, and Larry, if he cares whether he meets us or not. Oh, and remember to check your e-mails for details on whether photography is allowed or not. I won't be receiving that e-mail.

Hi all, Alicia is planning to meet my husband and me for dinner before the show on Friday night. I'm not sure who is going to be around for that one, but perhaps we could find a restaurant close to the venue that would be amenable to all of us. We have general admission seating as well, so an early dinner around 5 p.m. would probably be best. Melody
