It just doesn't sound like a theme-song movie. There really aren't that many out there.  I've discovered that movies like Titanic and LOTR which do are pretty rare. So often movies will use already-existing songs, not necessarily have a singer sing something specifically for a movie. And it came to mind, but I doubt it: The last Hobbit movie isn't likely in this case, either, because the artists tend to go to NZ to meet with PJ & team, and record it. But then, you never know if Howard Shore or somebody else would meet with her. But when I wrote to Shore, the address for his agency or whatever was in New York. Also, it's a little early for the Hobbit song, anyway. And I've learned that nothing about the Hobbit gets much recognition at the Academy Awards, and the song never gets nominated. The only advantage for Hayley would be that everyone who sees the movie would hear at least a few lines from the song (since most people make a beeline for the exit the second it ends), and then all the Hobbit fans (of which there are many) would buy the soundtrack and hear her song. And the theme song does tend to get more attention than the rest of the score, whether good or bad (Ed Sheerhan's I See Fire had very mixed reviews). |

The tweet from Gina Beck is making it even more confusing. Did they see each other by total coincidence? And if they met for a reason, why? And if not, we're still clueless! LOL I hope it's something exciting. It seems like it has to be!

I've been wondering if she's working with some special songwriter, or something. The David Foster theory is a nice idea, too. Didn't she say she first met him in CA somewhere? Of course I never knew that until she mentioned it around the time of the DF tour of Asia. And obviously, if you're on a big trip like that, and you have a little time, you're going to want to relax and explore while you're at it, too.  |

Well, if the newly married Hayley is taking some time out, who could blame her. She would not be making the same mistake we did, both working so that we could retire and spend some time together someday. It never happened. Reminds me of a song.

Hi Libby, I do know that Hayley is dedicating this year to writing and preparing for a new album, but there may also be an occasional live show. So I assume that the new album will be released next year not this. I don't know if 'preparing for' includes recording but I guess there could well be some studio work of some kind involved. Thanks for providing that information, Dave. It's very nice to know that she is for sure working on the album. I have never really thought that there would be any album this year. I've been the one to say maybe late 2015, but I certainly won't rule out earlier in the year, as others have suggested. Unless we find out otherwise somehow. It's also nice to know that there might be a concert or 2 this year. |

Hello Libby I've been giving some thought to this myself and it's the leather jacket that's got me thinking. Sure, Hayley would dress up if she was going out but won't it be a bit warm for a leather jacket in LA this time of year.
