Hi Bob, Libby and Martin D, Yes we agreed exceptionally not to post the details in advance, at the request of the Vietnamese organisers (via Hayley's management). They wanted Hayley to be a surprise to the delegates etc., or something. I don't think anyone over here was too happy about it, and I think just the main two forums google-wise were asked (I guess that was the minimum needed to comply). So we agreed to hide the thread until the date Hayley was due to appear but now, it's back again! Everything's gone very quiet over there, though perhaps it's not surprising for a private event in that part of the World? Cheers, Dave Hi, I wonder if Tony Blair figured in the "surprise". Perhaps the organizers of the event were aware that he had been at the US Embassy in London when Hayley sang there in 2004 to President Bush, Queen Elizabeth, and other dignitaries. Aside from being a speaker at Da Nang, I read where he had been in negotiations with Viet Nam over becoming a business advisor to them. Hi everyone,
I've made enquiries and can confirm that Hayley's performance went ahead, at an indoor arena instead of an outside one as originally planned. They had a contingency plan, so the bad weather doesn't seem to have been too much of a problem.
But that's all I can find out, in view of the organisers prior request for privacy at this private event.
I have no idea where Hayley is at the moment.

Not even after the fact?  Anyway, we know she has another engagement back in the UK this Friday, so I would imagine she'd be back in London very soon, if not already. If she is back, she's probably a bit jetlagged.  |
