Of course it would be equally valid to call a piano a "forte" logically. After all, if we are only going to mention one of the pedals, why does it matter which one?

I'm thinking they chose the name as the musical reference of the word: adv. & adj. Abbr. f In a loud, forceful manner. Used chiefly as a direction. n. A note, passage, or chord played forte. Because male CC can certainly sound that way, albeit most of the time in a good way.

Laura Wright recently released a 'forte' album, didn't she? I hope that doesn't cause even more confusion in the ranks! Cheers, Dave

Not likely, nobody in the UK knows who Forte is, and nobody in the US knows who she is! Not many, anyway.

Forte have released a new video of one of their songs from their album, Future Classics. As seen below (if you click See More), it has still not been released to the public yet; it was only released to fans who pledged for it ahead of time. I didn't do that, because I wanted to know what was on the album first. I didn't know all this till a few months ago, when I finally asked them about it on twitter. They were kind enough to show me the tracklisting, but I don't remember anything else that was on it except this and the Game of Thrones song (which is awesome, btw). I will have to go back and browse through my twitter notifications. I usually keep e-mail notifications when someone famous replies to me on twitter or likes one of my tweets (happens most often with skaters), but after the problems with my hard-drive failure in Sept., I lost some of the e-mails. I did get many of them back, even some I'd kept from a few years ago. But there was a gap, so I think I lost some. Oh well, for the most part, whatever they were, I'm not really missing them. Anyway, here's the video. It's a cover of the song Collide by Howie Day, which was popular here when it first came out. I have never heard another song by this artist, since, though. I think these guys did a really nice job with it. Josh Page and Hana Ryu in particular. Sean is a little too operatic in some parts, but still enjoyable. They are certainly better vocalists than Howie.

I just went through my twitter notifications, and I can't find that tracklist again. They might have just put it up temporarily for my benefit, and taken it down. What I remember seeing is a lot of popular songs, most likely done in a crossover fashion (sort of), and I think when I saw it, I wasn't sure if I liked the idea of nearly all pop songs, but the song I posted above was very enjoyable, and proof that the other songs could be so, as well. I'm now interested in what the guys sing individually. Josh has a band, The Brothers Page (that's his brother Zach on guitar next to Sean Panikkar). Sean does a lot of opera productions. Too bad Fernando left, but very glad Hana returned (Sean was his replacement on AGT), as mentioned before.

Forte just uploaded this video. It's a cover of the Rihanna song, We Found Love. Now, the original is kind of catchy and Rihanna's voice sounds reall nice (if a bit auto-tuned) in this song, but the crazy, about-to-explode dance club music is enough to drive you mad. Forte's version with this orchestra is a much higher quality of music and singing, and is really, surprisingly good! It seemed a little weird to me at first with their loud opera vocals right in your face at the beginning. It was kind of funny watching 3 tenors jumping up and down together like rock singers might do, but after the 2nd time, it got me excited about them and wish I could see them in concert. I hope they release their album soon! If these recent videos are any indication, their album, Future Classics, will be a real treat. I was also listening to a few cover songs that Josh Page did with his brother Zach, in The Brothers Page. I really like this one, called Hide & Seek by Imogen Heap. It's kind of weird, but catchy. I especially like the end, for some reason, and Zach has a really sweet falsetto voice. He's kind of adorable, there, actually (okay, call me weird). Anyway, it's really short, and I wish it was longer, because I like it! I tried the original verison, and didn't care for it, the vocal layering was too much and the voices not as pleasant as the Page Brothers.
