That's a slightly strange choice of song. 'Never Saw Blue' would have been more appropriate.

I agree with you but apparently, 'Prayer' is greatly appreciated by video game fans. I saw several topics on French websites where people asked who was the singer. Example on an English website New Forever Blue videos wash on shore.

Wikipedia's page on Forever Blue even mentions Hayley!

'Pokarekare Ana' is also featured in the game!

The song "Prayer" by Hayley Westenra is featured in the trailers for Endless Ocean, as well as in the game itself. Westenra also contributes several other songs including her rendition of the Maori folk song "Pokarekare Ana".

Nintendo confirms Endless Ocean Euro release date

Nintendo of Europe has announced that its deep sea diving simulator, Forever Blue (known as Endless Ocean in Japan) will be released on the continent on November 09.

Players must assume the role of the diver, opting to go into the water to explore sea-life at their own pace utilising tools such as a camera or fish bait. In the cabin on the boat, divers can access the fish log to check out the fish that have been spotted, as well as carry out missions like photographing marine life. These missions unlock content, such as new items to use underwater, or different diving gear that can be used to customize the diver.



Players interact with marine life using the Wii Remote and even befriend a dolphin, which can be trained to swim around with you. Don’t fancy the water? Perhaps you’d like to kick back and relax on the deck of the boat, either listening to the tranquil tones of Hayley Westenra or mp3s of your choosing.

An online co-operative mode even lets two players team up and dive together, a feature that includes all of the options available in the single player game as well as communication signals via the D-pad.

It might not sound like the most exciting experience in the world, but Endless Ocean has received extremely positive reviews since its release in Japan earlier on this year.

Hello everyone,

I'm really surprised that this thread has been dormant since last September, especially as the game has now been released in most major Countries Worldwide. I've been seeing lots of reviews via Google Alerts but I have to admit, I've ignored most of them - until today! After reading the review by TV3 of NZ I decided to do some exploring... and I discovered nothing but Pure Treasure during my Odyssey across the Internet!

Here is the first part of the TV3 review:

It was with some trepidation when I heard I would be reviewing an underwater diving game for the Wii. And the name of the game - Endless Ocean - It didn't kinda grab me, and it doesn't really give any clues as to the kind of game it would be. As we all know - there's a whole lot of trash in the Wii game library to date - I needn't have worried though - This game is one of the most unique gaming experiences I've had for a while - and that is the key word here - it's an experience, as opposed to a traditional game with weapons and goals.

So before you read on - let's set some expectations - This is not a game in the normal sense - It's more of a highly interactive 'explore and learn as you chill' experience - It has the potential of becoming your go-to game because it's so relaxing to play.

Right from the opening menu, the quality soundtrack sets the tone - Relax and enjoy - I thought I was listening to Enya, but looking at the credits I realise it's our very own Hayley Westenra who sings with her beautiful voice throughout the game including Pokarakare Ana (You know - The song on that cool Air NZ ad a couple of years ago). A big and welcome surprise - It's not often we see such home-grown talent gracing international media such as this.

The rest of the review is pretty positive and it seems to be fairly typical of most of the reviews that I've read over the last few weeks. Here's what I discovered in my wanderings:

This game has been doing well in the Wii game charts in several Countries and do you know what? I think this could turn out to be quite a "nice little earner" for our ever-diversifying Hayley!

Ironically, I was going to raise the topic of this game at some point myself. I dont recall seeing this thread, so you probably saved one of your moderators the job of locking a new thread by posting here

Anyway, I had noted on YouTube that there was apparantly quite a positve response to the soundtrack of this game - It isnt an action game, so there are probably rather solid limits to its appeal, but a small number of people really like it.. As far as marketing ideas go, this one is pretty good - it may even serve as a palatable introduction of Hayley to a few of her peers

anything that gets Hayley to a new audience is good. :)The fact that most of us are not into video games, so are not likely to get it, goes to show it is a new audience!
It does not come as a surprise to me that many of the public as a whole have not even heard of Hayley. I recently was bidding on Ebay for a Hayley Promo CD that went to a winner in the States for a large sum. The seller contacted me after a few days and said the winner had not been in touch and was I still interested in a 'second chance' offer if he could not contact him. He said that he was surprised how high a price the CD had risen to as he had not even heard of Hayley; and he was a dealer in second hand CD's !!
( unfortunately the winner did eventually contact the seller so I am still looking )
Anyway moral of the story is there are plenty of people out there that have not even heard of Hayley, never mind heard her sing, so the more interest groups she 'taps into' the better.

Had a good 'nose' around and it looks quite a good educational game. It seems a good buy for Mum's and Dad's to get for their little ones

Hello everyone

I'm also not into computer games, but have seen some of the advertising for this particular one and feel that Hayley's soundtrack/voice is ideal for this game.

As the reviewer seems to think this is a relaxing, exploration adventure, I can see parents buying this for their offspring and becoming hooked themselves.

mmmm? I have a birthday present to buy for a 10 year old this week. I wonder?

Hello everyone,

I have Endless Ocean, and I can confirm everything said by Grant before.
The game is a beautiful relaxing experience, and every song fits perfectly in.
There are totally 9 Hayley song plus a special medley.

Many people have discovered Hayley with EO's soundtrack.. I think she should thank Nintendo i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif
