Hi Paulo, Thank you very much for all the good work that you have done in following up on Hayley's visit to Portugal, the various twits that you found, the translations that you made of reports, and the pictures posted. It was nice that you were able to find that brief video of Fernando and Hayley singing. What a great pair they make! Thanks, BobS
Paulo, the video won't work for me. It says server not found.
Hi Libby, I get that message, also. But, since you likely have a bit of time before bed, and Paulo is likely sound asleep, you may be able to see it this way without waiting if you care to try. Use the address above the picture instead of the one under the picture. Under the Il Divo picture which comes up, you should see the video which you can click on to hear for about 50 seconds. (Pardon my butting in, but I believe that you'll be able to hear it without waiting. It is good, but brief!) BobS

I highlighted "You raise me up" because we know Hayley sang this with Fernando Varela.
The remaining faithful were treated to one of the most powerful closing ceremonies that I have ever experienced -- a 90 minute Peace Symposium performed by Fernando Varela and Haley Westenra backed by the St Dominic’s Gospel Choir and the Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa. As a closing duet, they sang “Let there be peace on earth” as the entire audience sang and swayed in unison. That melody is still ringing in my mind.
The music was so powerful that we did not notice the evening had drawn long. As we started toward the exit, we began to realize that we were empowered knowing that this RI Convention had left us ROTARIZED. The Rotary experience was real. I left the auditorium feeling great pride knowing that I had again been transformed from a participator to a Rotarian.
Ve sırada yine Barış Konseri vardı. Önce 2 Cellos olarak 2 Hırvat Sanatçı sahne aldı. Ardından yine Portekiz Ezgilerini Fado Sanatçısı genç ve güzel bayandan dinledik. Finalde Lisboa Metropolitan Orkestrası Eşliğinde İngiliz Soprano Hayley Westenra büyüleyici sesiyle hepimizi hayran bıraktı. Puerto Rico’lu Tenör Fernanda Verela ise muhteşem sesiyle müziğe harikalar kattı. Düetleri ise nefes kesiciydi. Hepimize unutulmayacak bir Konser yaşattılar.
And there were of Peace concert again. 2 Cellos Croatian artist took the stage as the first two. Then again the melodies of Portuguese fado artist listened to the young and beautiful lady. Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra in the final sound of the charming British soprano Hayley Westenra impressed us all. Puerto Rican music, the sound of magnificent wonders of the added Verela Grade Fernanda. The breathtaking duets. Yaşattılar us an unforgettable concert.
