Stephany You have just made my day week for providing this recording. It is:
FANTASTIC
This has to be my all time favourite version by Hayley. It's kept simple with just a single guitar accompanyment and Hayley delivers this English folk song to perfection.
I'm in seventh heaven!!
Martin
PS Can we have this video saved on HWI please.

Hi Stephany...gorgeous. Thank You. Yes Steph....... & I am happy to see her wearing that. Its totally Hayley. Practically speaking tho she's got another interview a half hour after this & then has to come & meet me. Hows she got any time to change? That performance of hers was pretty well identical to the one in Readings.....same Guitarist as well. I just listened to Celtic treasure's Scarb. Fair to check something. I'm sure all the rest of you noticed it: The musical interlude between the verses which is usually violins or more.....she substitutes with the most lovely lilting of her own voice. ..........Spellbinding............ Martin, I'm with you ..... very good clip too. Thanks Steph to for all your presentation of this post....brilliant Graeme

This acoustic version of "Scarborough Fair" is a delight. Once again, a smashing performance from Hayley! This has to be my all time favourite version by Hayley. It's kept simple with just a single guitar accompanyment and Hayley delivers this English folk song to perfection. Martin, I agree with you on this. Less instruments is generally preferable because we get to hear Hayley's exceptional voice better. The musical interlude between the verses which is usually violins or more.....she substitutes with the most lovely lilting of her own voice. ..........Spellbinding............ Graeme, I also loved this interlude. Absolutely lovely!

Great clips, Stephanie and Graeme! Many thanks for your efforts in capturing this wonderful performance by Hayley. I also like the way she uses her own voice for the instrumental break in the middle of 'Scarborough Fair', as she does in the vocalise version of 'Pokarekare Ana'. Best Wishes, Richard

WOW!!
That was so amazing!! I totally agree about the lone guitar (superb playing by the way!) and Hayley's self accompaniment. I hope that version appears on an album some time soon (very soon!!)
Best wishes Grant

The vocalise version of "Pokarekare Ana" is my favourite among all the different versions Hayley has done because of that. No wonder I consider this version of "Scarborough Fair" Hayley's best to date.

As Grant mentioned (and if either Hayley or Steve A. read this) it MUST be on a future release. In fact, how about as an idea for a future album "Hayley unplugged" offering a similar approach with minimal accompanyment. Martin

Hi All, I was hoping someone would give me a name. Thanks Richard. "Instrumental break" is the term apparently.
You can imagine my reaction hearing that fresh arrangement of SF down in Readings shop & half not believing what I was hearing.
Yes, I see we're all well & truly putting our "yes please" on another Hayley trail blazer.
......LOVELY......
Graeme

Hi Folks. An Unplugged album would be magic alright A long time ago on another forum some people criticized PURE because HAYLEY's voice was so much louder or in front of the orchestra almost drowning out the instruments. I think this is exactly what made PURE the wonderful album that it is. comet
