Hi everyone,
Thanks for the iTunes tips, though I have to say I found the samples on the first link to be very short, and they sounded over-compressed to me.
So I went hunting around and fired up my rarely used iTunes application (rather than the web browser). Boy am I glad I did!
They have high quality samples of all 16 'UK bonus edition' tracks, most of which are up to 90 seconds long (only two of 30 seconds).
I have spent the last few hours editing all the samples down for a complete sample set on our website, which I hope to complete tonight so watch this space. I will also create a UK edition thread tonight, now that we know probably all we need to know about it.
And what I now know for the first time is that I absolutely LOVE what I have heard of this album! There, I said it. As far as I'm concerned, Jon Cohen was right all along, this is good stuff. Not exciting in any way shape or form and a couple of the tracks are a bit too slow for my liking, but it's just delicate, gentle, beautiful music from beginning to end. Mood music for when I'm in the mood for it and right now, I certainly am. All those samples are a nice present for our 10th anniversary and for the first time in my life I can say that I love marmite! Hi everyone, As promised in the Hushabye General thread, here is the UK edition thread, now that we have the complete track listing and samples of every track! We can start additional threads for other editions as full details emerge, if they differ significantly from the UK and Japanese editions. Comments about Hushabye generally should continue to be made in the General thread. Here is what appears to be the complete UK track listing. 1 Pretty Little Horses 2 Hushabye Mountain 3 Dream A Little Dream 4 Sleep On [for Royal Baby] 5 Twinkle Twinkle Little Star 6 Go To Sleep You Little Baby 7 Brahms Lullaby 8 Goodnight My Angel 9 All Through The Night 10 Baby Of Mine 11 Hine E Hine 12 When At Night 13 Stay Awake iTunes De-Luxe edition: extra tracks 14 All I Have To Do Is Dream 15 Bau Bei 16 All Through The Night (Welsh) You can now hear fairly high quality previews of every track (modified slightly from iTunes UK ) on the HWI website - all but two are between 60 and 90 seconds long, the other two are 30 seconds. Hushabye UK - iTunes DeLuxe Edition samplesI haven't yet set up a "play all automatically" option, that will have to wait until tomorrow but you can do that on the iTunes PC application. Please let me know if the HWI web page I just linked to loads too slowly, there is a lot of stuff on there now and I may need to split some of it off. Incidentally, I love Bau Bei! Cheers, Dave

Cool! Even though I'm fasting samples this round, it's nice for other visitors to the site. Also Dave, you might want to update the "Discography" page. It still says Paradiso is expected to be released in August. -Taylor i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

Thanks very much, Dave! I can't listen to begin with because I don't even use Itunes. Why are they now spelling it Bao Bei with a U? I'm pretty sure the original spelling with an O were more accurate. That looks more accurate for Mandarin to me. I'm going by people's names that I've seen who are most likely Chinese. I only see Us if it's a name that you'd pronounce the U like in the word "fund", or something. And that's coming from someone who checks people's ID a lot, and quite a few of them are originally from somewhere in Asia. I guess that's the British spelling, then?

Thanks Dave! Great to have everything in one handy place I was able to go into my iTunes and click "change country" to the UK to view the deluxe Hushabye version and listen to the samples there. However I cannot purchase / download from iTunes UK without a UK billing address (although I heard you can make up any address).

What language is When at Night in? Besides English? I think that song is one of the most beautiful I've heard on it! That'll be one for my Zune, I think. Hushabye Mountain and Sleep On are my most favorites, and Dream a Little Dream, too. All Through the Night is another good one. It's already in Welsh for part of it in the regular version, so that would've been good enough for me. Hine will be another often played one, but I thought it sounded slower than the original versions. Which disappoints me a bit, because I wanted it to sound like the version on the special edition UK version. I only have the song with the Maori chant in the middle, and I get annoyed with the interruption, so I don't listen to it as often as I might otherwise. I was hoping this new version would reduce my urge to spend money on the special UK version of Pure, but I think I still should get it sometime anyway. For one thing, it has Away in a Manger and Silent Night, so I think I still will. Goodnight My Angel was nice, better than Celtic Woman's. But her emotional interpretation was not quite what I was expecting, after Sleep On and Twinkle. I've heard another really good version recently, and I'm sorry, but her interpretation fell a little flat in comparison. Maybe it was just that part, but it was a little dull for me. Okay, the Go to Sleep song was a little weird for me. It sounds interesting though, but very strange. Not sure how it would put a baby to sleep, either. I notice they left out the "You little baby" part from the title. But she did say "go to sleep you little baby" in the Pretty Horses song. I like Bao Bei, but the short, low notes aren't the best to showcase her voice. The "ya-ya-ya" parts I like, but the verses are a bit choppy. And I'm sorry, but hearing Hayley say "gee whiz" in All I Have to Do is Dream was extremely cheesy. The guy who sings it sounds kind of annoying anyway, so it sounds normal for him to say it, but Hayley singing it... not impressed, sorry. I don't know why this song was chosen. Tasting lips of wine has nothing to do with babies... they might taste like milk, not wine! LOL So I'm excited about some of the songs, but not so much on others. Simba, I should hope she doesn't go in this direction for her next albums, because I'd be a bit horrified. And don't yell at me for my opinion, thanks.

Lol Libby, clearly you didn't get the point of my post, I wasn't even talking to people expressing their 'opinions', I didn't even have a problem with what stuff you said, and by direction, I'm talking about the singing with intimacy, and small runs here and there, and with deep emotion. And yes this album is not just for babies, it's to put anyone to sleep, your lover to. So it works, Dream a little dream too. All I want to do is dream is definitely one of my favs in the album, I love the backing!

Hi everyone, I have now added a "play all tracks" option at the bottom of the sample set for the Hushabye iTunes UK Deluxe Edition. Here is a reminder of where you can find it on our website: Hushabye UK track list and samplesThe page might be a bit slow to load due to the amount of stuff on it now, and the "play all tracks" option may be slow to load in some cases, as it's quite long. Cheers, Dave

I'm not an expert on iTunes. I did buy her "Koko" album there, because there was no other way to get it. But I always prefer to have the physical CD. So does anyone know if it will be possible to buy just the bonus tracks. After all, I will already have the others, probably more than one copy.

Whatever happened to her exclusive first treaser XD I don't miss it. But it might be an introduction to the whole album, kind of like The Last Rose of Summer tune was the intro to the first Celtic Woman DVD, which then led to Chloe singing Walking in the Air. Possibly, it would be the beginning, right before the Horses song, since it says Hushabye in it. Okay, Simba, I see what you're saying now about the direction. But I still enjoy her classical songs. I'm still hoping for a variety from her, but soft, intimate songs would definitely be a good thing from her. And I am not buying the statement that this is not an album for babies. There are a few songs that could be geared toward adults, but very few. Besides her biggest fans, nobody besides parents of babies is going to buy it. I hate to agree with those comments on youtube, but they're most likely true. That's why it's a terrible idea to put out albums that fit into a small category like this, that only appeal to a certain group of people. If she gains any new fans, it will only be parents of babies, and hopefully the babies themselves eventually. And I hope the children at the Dame Vera Lynn school and the Music therapy centre in NZ get to hear it, because I bet they would love it.

Yeah that's a nice way of looking at it Like hayley said "My voice has developed from this very sort of a pure voice to this....*giggles* my voice still has that purity, I think, but it's enriched with life experience" I was delighted to hear that out of Hayley's mouth, I mean I can see how proud she is about this album willing to face the fact that it's not gonna be liked by quite a few too I love her classical singing more than anybody else I'm sure XD You'd have followed my rant about how I didn't like the way she's singing old classics now XD....I liked her old Hine e Hine better anyway XD About variety yes, but then she sang almost all songs really perfectly, When at light was amazing it was like a hint of her old singing with a lot more variation in tone and modulation

I like Hush Little Baby too, I wish it was on the album! Incidentally, I don't agree with those who say that apart from Hayley's established fans, it's an album only for babies, or people with babies. I think it's potentially attractive for everyone who has ever had babies, and that's a lot of people. Perhaps people who like gentle intimate singing too. Anyway, it brings back some nice memories for me. Cheers, Grandad Dave
