Libby, usually artists don't do all the recording in the last or at once, it is not a 'final stage' as it might seem. Songs maybe recorded over the span of many years (2 or 3) before they get into the final release. Hayley has been hinting much before hushabye talk that she's been doing new tracks, new recordings. What do you think? It's been 2 years already since paradiso XD And a singer starts thought about the new album as soon as one's released. I'm pretty sure she already has a lot of songs written and quite a few recorded already if not mixed and ready. I think the next album will not be longer than early or mid 2014 for its release itself. (Oh and I know you were exaggerating and all that, but it was just a little too unrealistic , definitely it won't go that long, maybe the release might, but definitely not recording...XD) Hi Simba, I agree - I think after all this time and the fact that work on the next album was suddenly interrupted due to the lullaby album intervention, that Hayley would have a clear idea about what the next album will be. I think that provided Hayley is given a clean run at it (i.e. no scheduling mix ups, touring opportunities, record label politics etc) that the next album should be ready sooner rather than later. But things take time - especially if it's going to be done right. I'm not sure whether full scale recording would have happened - maybe demos? For example, (looking at the quoted timeline below) Hushabye was really express rushed out and it still took time. 5. On 14 January 2013, it is announced that the heir will be born in July 2013. Hence the necessary release date for the album is known. 6. On 29 January 2013, Hayley tweets that she is 'brewing some musical potions'. 7. 13 February 2013, recording starts on Hushabye for a week. 8. There's a break in recording, as Hayley heads over to NZ for her concert at Blenheim. 9. By 19 March 2013, recording is underway again and by 24 March 2013, recording is finalised. 10. On 27 March 2013, Hayley meets with Decca to discuss the album release. 11. Hushabye album shoot done on 4 April 2013. 12. Hayley heads over to the Far East for her tour. 13. On 2 May 2013, the video shoot for Hushabye is shot. Goodness, reading through the beginning of the Hushabye thread to find that quote was really very amusing... Particularly reading the posts as the penny slowly started to drop as to what the album was actually going to be. Though, I must say because I have a devil of a sense of humour, this is one of my favourite things about Hushabye. If I had to set an essay question about Hayley's music, I would simply quote that tweet and write 'Discuss' underneath it. Cheers, Jillian

Yeah you did a great job on the timeline haha. Demos, or atleast just the vocals. Putting the mixing to the end. Some famous songs have had the vocals recorded with just a few instruments and the orchestra being built around it. We may never know, but whatever it is, like you said it'll only be sooner than later. And looks like Hushabye is just a quick album that had work on the new album paused, if we go anything by Hayley's 2 year interval for international releases, then the new album should've been out by now or late this year. So Feb, March, April, May, June, 5 months for Hushabye. If they had planned the new album for this year end I don't think it'll be delayed more than Mid-next year. Which sure is exciting But what we need to understand is, if Sleep on and in turn Hushabye gets really popular, that'll be really good for her new album, rather than 2 years of people wondering where hayley had gone (for the normal fans who don't follow her) And Decca would promote it more seriously too because Hayley did something they asked her to do So all is for the better of her new material!

I doubt the Union Chapel concert has anything to do with Hushabye, although she may sing one or two songs from it. It think it is one for us, her UK fans. She knows she hasn't done a show this year for us, and after the disappointment of "Nights on Broadway", I'm sure she wanted to do something. So a suitable venue was found for a small intimate concert that will not be widely advertised, and perhaps only on her fan sites and to her twitter followers.

Here's an absolutely stunning live performance of Hayley singing Sleep on for Classic FM with just the piano! Thanks bob for finding it! www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3F3eDd7GMA&feature=yuI love this so much better than the album version, never seen Hayley sing ANY song with SUCH you know emotion! What a heartfelt rendition! Actually I've never heard anyone sing so you know soul touching! Hayley's voice always touches the soul, but this performance, I think she really felt it. And I like this video MUCH more than any of the cheesy promos XD wow this made my day. Apparently there's a video of her talking to Classic fm, which will be up soon too

Martin D I think there may be some truth in that Martin. Hayley's also tweeted recently that it's "her dream venue" so it must be something quite special. There's a good few regulars booked already so hopefully Hayley will be pleased to see "the usual suspects" Best wishes Grant

Well, of course I'm hoping the album will be earlier in the year, but a record company like Decca can make you a bit pessimistic. Also, Paradiso was originally said to be out in October 2010. It wasn't released in the UK till nearly a year after that! Decca hasn't really earned my optimism.

Brahm's lullaby live from Classic fmWow wow wow! these live performances have to be some of the best ones of Hayley! Now I like Hushabye even more because this is THE first album, or studio recording of Hayley's that brings out her Live voice, live tone! This is amazing on one side. And the other thing is, I like how Hayley is staying true to her studio recordings in her live performances too Classic fm did a great job in using quality equipment, to make it sound really authentic

Wow! An amazing performance! Brava! I'm so glad that companies like Classic FM do this sort of thing, helping us fans who can't go to Hayley's concerts hear a truly quality live recording. :rollin I think I'm starting to like these live versions better than the ones in the album! :je -Taylor i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

Hi all, Well, 13 July 2013 has come and gone, with reports that Catherine is currently staying with her parents in Bucklebury, Berkshire and isn't even in London awaiting the birth! So it may be days off yet. The palace never confirmed 13 July as the due date - all they said was 'mid-July'. So the waiting continues... I wonder what Decca are going to do with this... I imagine they'll probably just change it to the date of the actual royal birth and maybe any 13 July mothers who have registered for a copy with get one anyway?

Hello Jillian! The latest speculation is that the baby isn't due for several days yet. If Decca had some inside information, it was wrong! Richard

Sometimes they're late, though, aren't they?

Yes, in fact, my sister's second baby was 2 weeks late.
