Ah, lol it's funny that you posted that, I watched a bunch of that guys videos when I first took interest in the sitar-guitar a few months ago. There is also one of those used in Steve Vai's "Freak Show Excess" -Rory

Libby, wonderful music I think one of the pieces includes Shreya Ghoshal Like Hayley people say she's so much better live, and finally I'll be getting to see her this Saturday! Damn excited. Next is my dream to see Hayley, hopefully that happens soon. She tours worldwide, recently performed in a sold out concert at the Royal Albert Hall. Catch her live when she comes in concert near you, if you like Hayley you'd definitely be thrilled I'm sure. Richard and Rory those are wonderful pieces

I also like this music, used for a Bollywood routine on So You Think You Can Dance: www.youtube.com/watch?v=kUvbfe1RB9oThere have been plenty of other Bollywood routines since then, but this one was the first one, and still the most memorable and enjoyable for me.

Thanks Libby! A little tip. When a URL begins with 'https', you must either remove the 's' or add hyperlink tags to make the link clickable. It's really a minor bug in the forum software. Richard

What a fabulous routine! Thanks Libby. And they even dance on their toes sometimes, like ballet dancers. My wife Sur is a ballet fan.

WOW! My dreams of seeing Ghoshal live today came true today. Unforgettable experience, goosebumps throughout, over 35 songs. Almost left me with tears and I was only dreaming of the day I'd see Hayley some day in concert. One of the songs she performed today that I'd never heard before was this www.youtube.com/watch?v=fL0VuGUyVIw, still the one I heard live will be unequalled. Four years since the one I've linked, and her voice has been molded into gold. But it's a wonderful song from the beginning vocalese to the last note.

Thanks for sharing. She has a nice voice. But why are some of the men shaking their heads when they point the camera on them? Do they not like being on TV, or do they not like the singing? Did you see who the new Miss America is? Her name is Nina Davuluri, and she's of Indian descent, born in New York. In the talent portion, she danced to the same song that the couple on the American dance show (So You Think You Can Dance) did! In fact, some of her choreography is nearly identical, and then I noticed it said her choreographer was the same guy who always choreographs the Bollywood dances on SYTYCD. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eh_0PzIsv5gAnd, I don't know if it's weird sound quality or a different singer, but the voice doesn't sound quite the same... sort of chipmunky, though nothing else sounds chipmunky. In fact, it almost sounds like the voice of Kristen Chenoweth!

It was an interesting show where famous singers were brought together in a fun singing competition, all those people you see are singers. Some of them are just nervous as Shreya's always the best, some of them moved their heads as a response to admiring the music/voice that was being played Yes I heard, and I heard about the drama that revolved around it. :/ But yes, it's the same song, but as you can see, from 0:33, the whole audio has been raised several semi tones, even the voice of the compere. So as is the case always with high pitched audio files, it sounds chipmunky. People do this to youtube audio so that youtube doesn't detect any matches and copyright claims The Scarborough fair video of hayley on youtube (the one that has the most view count) has her voice raised by a semitone for same purposes. I do not like this one bit, I'm very sensitive to hayley's tone, and any alteration like this is not doing good. I prefer people to enjoy her voice as it is, and don't want people to get the wrong idea. I think for most people the difference is unnoticeable, but oh well that's not hayley's real voice for me. I'm happy that you like her voice, listen to this, one of more recent recordings (where as the last one was 4 years back) www.youtube.com/watch?v=omiswoHnoTk, she does some complex runs at places, which I think you'll enjoy. It tickles my ears haha. Like the one at 1:00 www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKmhX4RHQGU This is a duet, ofcourse as with Hayley, Shreya's voice overshadows the male vocals. This one has a more Indian feel to it.
