Haha I'm pretty sure Libby was referring to Britney Spears, but nevertheless they both can exemplify the negativities of early stardom. I wonder if this is the first time Britney Spears and Justin Bieber were mentioned in one (or any) HWI thread! It is a tad bit nauseating though... -Rory

Haha not bad Steve I'll be well prepared now come this April! If Hayley ever does become a Dame I surely would hope JB wouldn't be there -Rory

Actually, I was thinking of Miley Cyrus. But I think I'm going by one photo that I saw, and then recently she cut her hair really short, and I don't like it at all. But she can do whatever she wants, I don't care. And yes, Britney Spears would be included in the drug part, but I'm not sure I ever knew of her as very innocent... "I'm Not That Innocent..." Oh no, now I'm going to have that in my head. Lindsay Lohan also came to mind. And I'm pretty sure all of these people have been mentioned on this forum before now, because I recall seeing that Hayley was following all of these people at one point, though maybe not Miley. I look at Hayley's following list every so often, and I might not have seen Lindsay the last time, but I'm pretty sure Britney and Justin were still there.

Don't jest - it can happen to anyone. I can remember a Hayley concert not too long ago that was very late starting, about an hour late I think. But that was due to genuine technical issues, I can remember seeing Arnaud rushing about looking worried...
We all know that Hayley's attitude to her fans is a million miles away from what we hear about JB.

Not to mention that Hayley is worth the wait! Many hardcore Bieber fans were very disappointed and upset after that incident, I can't imagine a similar reaction from Hayley fans - unless we were worried for her own well-being

Yes, I remember being very worried for her once, at a concert at Northampton Derngate. We knew she wasn't well, and I went away worried about her, knowing she had a punishing schedule, rather than elated as I usually am after seeing Hayley perform. I think I sensed it was something more than the chest infection. This was the end of 2008, just before her "breakdown". I wasn't disappointed though, she gave a great performance as always, and I don't think most of the audience knew how ill she was. It was only when we met her after the show that it was obvious that she wasn't her usual self. I feared she was working herself into the ground. We didn't know she wasn't eating properly of course - she had always seemed to be very sensible about things like that.

Well, over hear it makes the news in the mainstream media. But what is in the MSM these days seems to interest me less and less. They rarely if ever mention the artists I like.

I agree with Martin. I don't really watch the news or try to keep up with pop culture, but somehow I've still heard about these incidents, and I can pick out pop "hits" by many artists these days even though I NEVER listen to the radio. It's the power of the media. It's become a curse for society because of the artists they promote, but with the right artists and music it could just as easily be a blessing
