I wonder if there will be any voting this time. The delay will not help Hayley, since it increases the time since the release of Paradiso, and lets in others, so rather than a year it is 17 months!!! I would really like Hayley to win something, but fear she may not.

Thank you Richard, at last some information! There is more information about it here on the Classic FM website, it mentions that the nominations will be announced on September 6th. Cheers, Dave

Thanks Dave and Richard! At last some news on this event! I wonder if Hayley will be going to the launch? Cheers, Jillian I should hope so! I can't imagine that her album wouldn't at least be nominated! There would have to be something wrong with the people who do the nominating not to nominate her album, with Ennio Morricone involved!

I agree...that alone should be reason enough, and Hayley 's excellent performance, should be top of the list of nominations. Happy that John Wiliams is getting a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Hi Richard Thanks for the update. It is interesting to note that the TV version doubled the number of viewers last year. This was put down to including musical theatre and film music. Cheers Tony

How does an American composer get an award at a British awards show? I do hope Hayley will get to perform too!

Hello Libby! BRIT stands for British Record Industry Trust, a charity established in 1989 which is entirely funded by the music industry. Its mission is to encourage young people in the exploration and pursuit of educational, cultural or therapeutic benefits emanating from music. The BRIT Trust’s main commitment is to The BRIT School in Croydon (the only non-fee paying Performing Arts School in the UK) and to Nordoff Robbins (the UK’s leading independent provider of music therapy). The BRIT awards are international, so they're not restricted to British artists. Richard

I am so happy that John Williams gets to be honoured at this year's Brits, he deserves it so much. It doesn't really come as a surprise though as this year was his 80th birthday and that Classic FM heavily celebrated this milestone and his talent with many "specials". I think they are quite fan of him and I can really understand that I hope that Hayley will be present this year - two of my favourite artists at the same event, that would be magical... But like many of you, I'm very disappointed to see that Paradiso is not nominated... I was hoping that it might be next year, but considering it was released nearly 18 months ago, I think it is hopeless now. Which really is a shame. Seeing that, we cannot help but wonder if the awards are still genuine or if commercial interests are not actually involved... Thank you for sharing the info Richard Lots of love, Juliette xx

We don't know if Hayley's been nominated or not, yet!! They don't announce the nominations till Sept. 6th, so we've still a while to wait. Though I do think it would be ludicrous if Hayley wasn't nominated... -Taylor i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

Hello Libby! The BRIT awards are international, so they're not restricted to British artists. Richard Which is just as well, since otherwise Hayley would be excluded. Martin D

Don't do that to me! LOL Another good reason for John Williams to be on this year, is because of his Olympics fanfare that he composed. He even performed it on one of the 4th of July shows... pretty sure it was the Capitol 4th show on PBS!
