Hi All I attach a link to Raven's new blog (written by Rachael I believe) describing their recent appearance on Britain's Got Talent. It is very amusing but candid so beware of the language! bit.ly/H9VGs2Martin

Thanks Martin Absolutely brilliant - I think Rachel should give up her waitressing and do more writing, she has a definite talent i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifLooking forward to part 2. Best wishes Grant

Hello folks! I enjoyed the blog too, and it confirms my suspicions about Britain's Got Talent. I won't quote my favourite bits because I'd have to ban myself from the forum if I did! Richard

Am I missing something, or has a very bit cat just escaped from a bag?
"kicked out unceremonally before the semi finals". Err.. how do thay know that if who gets kicked out in each round depends on viewers' votes on the night?

No, they were kicked out BEFORE the semi finals. The semi finals is the round where it's on all week - 10 each day, and you vote for the top two. Rachel is saying that they didn't make the semi finals. Remember the producers judges choose the final 50 out of everyone that got through the first round - getting through the audition doesn't put you in the semi finals.

I know Keedie experienced equal fakeness and bad treatment at the hands of X-Factor when she auditioned. But for all intents and purposes, it's the same show.

Indeed. So the semi finals is not what we think of as the semi finals, and what the show calls the semi finals, when there are only 4 acts left?
This is highly confusing. And I'm not sure I really want to know. It is only my respect for Raven as the fine musicians that they are that makes me want to understand what happened.

Kicked off is a poor choice of words and could be hurtful.

Martin, the semi-finals are the top 50. 10 acts perform each night in the duration of one week, and the public vote for two per night that will perform in the final on the Saturday night. It is the correct term - a semi-final is a round before the final.
Monday: 10 contestants = 2 finalists Tuesday: 10 contestants = 2 finalists Wednesday: 10 contestants = 2 finalists Thursday: 10 contestants = 2 finalists Friday: 10 contestants = 2 finalists
Saturday: 10 finalists = 1 winner

Hi everyone.
Another long absence due to preoccupations but I have interacted on Facebook and Twitter regarding Raven and Rachel's initiative to help spread their word.
Thanks for the warning in Richard's post that quoting Rachel without thinking would not be appropriate for this site! I like her punchy 'raw' version of events (as in RAW photography) and I too often forget 'protocols' when I let loose, especially when interacting with her reporting!
It's a great blog, if you can accept her colloquial/street English, which is a deliberate style mode and should not be mistaken for the girl herself per se.
