Hi everyone.
I was disappointed with the Titchmarsh show although it was a different arrangement. She does indeed vary according to her mood and I think this presentation was not so much for TV as for the studio audience. I suspect it felt very intimate and personal to that audience but for me that did not come across on the screen. May be camera direction/editing as it was a pre-recording. She is performing within a set format rather than sound and camera being devoted solely to her needs.

Oh no Dave I wasn't asking for the video, usually people say if they recorded it or not, so I asked if someone managed to record it that's all The performance was amazing! I loved it

I'm really pleased that Hayley chose to sing this one if only because of Alan's and the media's continuous labelling her as a "classical" singer. Hayley is a SINGER and not a classical singer (even though she does it pretty well ). "Both Sides Now" was well produced and nicely integrated with the old video. Martin

Maybe she sang something old, because the tour is partly to celebrate her 10 year anniversary, or maybe something to do with her engagement? I think she can say she's looked at love from at least one side now! She did sing a Paradiso song, Whispers in a Dream, on the same show last year, I think, so there's another reason to sing something different. I really like her outfit. Purple pants! If she had really dyed her hair purple, as she joked about on twitter (to me!), then she really would have been matching! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

I really liked her performance and how she showed so much emotion. Very moving. And I like what she's done with her hair, going back to straight. It's interesting after these last few years where she's had it curly. Still, GREAT performance!!!
-Best from Bama

Blown away once again. And Bama you are right. She is gettig so much more emotion into her performances these days. And there is only one Hayley after all. I am really looking forward to hearing her live in only 8 days time!

Hi again everyone, I have now added better quality versions of Hayley's complete appearance on Titchmarsh to our web page at: www.hayley-westenra-international.com/content/alan-titchmarsh-show-24-feb-2012-videoThere are versions in SD at 1Mbps and HD at 3Mbps (but more people than usual will be unable to play the HD version smoothly without pauses, due to the higher bit-rate). Scroll down the page. I've added a few screen captures too, including the ring, here it is: And another: Best ones I've found so far I'm afraid (it's only TV!) and they are both cropped out of much larger screen-shots. Cheers, Dave

It's a sign that Hayley has truly arrived that she can get up there and deliver a sincere, in-the-moment rendition of a classic song like Both Sides Now — and not try to market it (it came out seven years ago) but indulge both the audience and herself in a more knowing, more emotionally realised treatment than was possible in 2005. I guess for the first time I fully believe her—that she really has experienced both sides—and maybe a few more beyond that. This was a beautiful piece.

Still, GREAT performance!!! -Best from Bama I don't think straight hair is unusual for her. She often has it more curly or wavy during concerts, but always in the arrival shots, before the show, her hair is almost always straighter than when she later appears on stage. The difference seems to be the way it's cut at the ends.

Thanks Dave for recording Hayley's appearances on AT. As Libby said, the song choice was probably done "in retrospect" of her career. I wonder if this arrangement of 'Both Sides Now' will also be done on tour. The glint of Hayley's ring matches the twinkle in her eye Thanks again Dave. Cheers, Joe

She needs to sing "There's a Sparkle in Your Eyes"! She could sing it with the guy who's opening for her.

She needs to sing "There's a Sparkle in Your Eyes"! She could sing it with the guy who's opening for her. I have been trying to get "Sparkle" played here in Ireland on "de wireless" for years. But I seem to be hitting a wall of silence every way I turn. But it's still on my "To do today" list. On the subject of sparkle, seeing these enlargements of Hayley's ring, I am getting this horrible feeling we are crossing a line of intrusion into her private and personal life that we should remain outside of.

I don't think so Comet. Her engagement to Arnaud is public knowledge and Hayley would appear to be happy with that. As long as we keep away from the relationship side of things, I'm sure "ooohing" and ahhhing" about her ring and offering congratulations to the happy couple is OK. Best wishes Grant
