Hi everyone! On Friday (UK time i.e. in 12 to 24 hours time) we will be trialling the first of an occasional series of Newletters to inform members by email of recent developments in the Hayley and HWI World. We hope this will be of general interest to members, particularly those who have not logged in for a while. If you don't want to receive our Newsletter emails, you can opt-out by changing your Profile if necessary, Account Preferences section, under "Mass Emails". Conversely, you will need to be opted-in and your email address up to date in order to receive them. Spam filters might block or "bin" the newsletter email addresses and if they do, you may need to add to your friends list, address book or similar, the email address we are using i.e. noreply@hayley-westenra-international.com and the Proboards email address i.e. noreply.proboards.com@proboards25.comThe newsletter will be in plain text as with Proboards, there is no other option. We will of course be very interested to know what you think of this idea, especially who receives the newsletter, if it went into your spam folder, and if you are opted IN but do not receive it. Remember though, it's just a trial at the moment. Cheers, Dave

Hi Dave,
There is a bit of confusion - what happens if we do nothing?
Are we opted in by default if we have supplied a current email address? Or not.
And plain text is the best option anyway. Anything else is a pain on some platforms which might not support other formats.
Don't get me wrong, I think this is good and support it. Hope it works out and look forward to the trial.

Hello Martin D, If you do nothing, you'll have to wait and see. Currently for new members the option is set for "opt-in" but that was not necessarily the case in previous years. Best thing is to check your Profile as above. Cheers, Dave

...to inform members ...of recent developments in the Hayley ... World. ... Yes, recent developments are pretty big for her right now. When the official announcement is made, we'll get word of it promptly this way, right?

Hi Steve, There is no connection between Jillian's idea for a newsletter trial and the rumour started in the Evening Standard. That popped up as a complicating factor - but don't expect to read anything about it in Newsletter no. 1. Cheers, Dave

Hi everyone! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif We've been thinking about the possibility of a newsletter for a couple of weeks now! I receive them from a number of forums that I'm a member of and I think that they are really quite handy - especially for the ones that I don't log into regularly. For example, I probably might not have known as soon about Jonathan Ansell's pledge system for his new album had I not received a newsletter from his forum about it! I joined the forum in November 2008 and my profile was set automatically as 'opt-in'. My email is gmail and I have the standard settings there and I haven't had any problems with newsletters being caught up in spam filters or the like. Cheers, Jillian

Thanks Jillian for explaining that and thanks for doing the work on it! Hi everyone, I've just sent out Newsletter no. 1 so if you are opted-in under Mass Emails in your Profile, you should receive it soon. I have! We'll post it in this thread tomorrow, for the benefit of anyone who didn't receive their email. Sorry there isn't much news yet beyond the tour! Cheers, Dave

I just received the email regarding the HWI newsletter. I think it's a great idea! I do not frequent these message boards as often as before (school and work commitments). And I have subscribed to the Official Hayley newsletter, but I rarely get anything from there (probably because I live in the US). So, I love your plan! Thank you!

Hello folks! I received the newsletter too, but it was delivered to my spam folder. I marked it as "not spam" which moved it to my inbox, then I added the sending email address to my contacts. Hopefully the next newsletter will go straight to my inbox. I think the first trial has been a success, and we will welcome your comments and suggestions on the content and layout of the newsletter. Please don't be shy! Best wishes, Richard

Hi everyone I was very pleasantly surprised when I woke up this morning and found this email in my phone. I love the idea! Haven't been able to have time to scroll through every thread in quite a while so thank you for the extra effort you guys are putting in! Hope everyone's been well. I'll be looking forward for the next one cheers, Joanne P.S. Oh, just to check, it was meant to be in plain text right? Cos if it was html or anything fancy, I didn't get it that way haha.
