Hello Paige and everybody! This is only a rumour until we hear confirmation from Hayley or her management, but it's great news if it's true. Best wishes, Richard

I just saw this and came on here to see if it is true, I assumed it was a rumour as Hayley herself has not said anything as far as I know. It is great news if its true though- hove to wait and see!

Well, they said it was a family friend. I assume they know what they're talking about. But yeah, it's good to get confirmation from Hayley herself. I don't know what her management has to do with anything. They're not managing her relationship, are they?

Hi Libby,
There is no public confirmation from Hayley herself, not that I am aware of, nor any kind of official announcement. Therefore, it's still a rumour.
It is not uncommon for personalities to announce such matters by press release, or a magazine exclusive, either of which would normally be done through their management (even if signed by the personality). That's what Richard meant.
I just hope that if true, it wasn't leaked without Hayley's and Arnaud's prior agreement.
The stories now appearing on NZ websites seem to be a re-hash of the Evening Standard rumour.
Cheers, Dave

Several people (not me) have tweeted congratulations to Hayley. I didn't because I want to hear it confirmed by Hayley or her management first. If it isn't true how would that make her feel?
Also, if as Dave suggests, it was leaked, I would rather pretend I hadn't heard it first from such a source.
If it is true, I am very happy for them both, and would love to be able to congratulate them. But the time is not yet.

Martin D Lol Talk about AWKWARD. I do wonder how some celebrities must deal with this kind of thing when they are only rumours. Prince William and Kate must have had a right time of it. I did see this yesteday morning, but I figured that Hayley might have her own plans for announcing it, if it's true, so I'll wait for that. Might be that an overeager family member got a bit carried away! Thank goodness I'm not a celebrity. In my family if you tell someone a secret, everyone will know in about half an hour! If it's true, it's very exciting news for Hayley, but I think I'll just wait and see. Cheers, Jillian

Then there's the question of who should sing at her wedding. Can anyone else do justice to "Bridal Ballad"? No matter who it is they're going to be upstaged by Hayley herself.

I wonder if she will be singing at her on wedding? I came across this article and thought some might find this news worthy of reading. Sorry if there is a thread about this elsewhere but I didn’t see it. www.stuff.co.nz/entertainment/music/6347080/Making-beautiful-music-togetherChristchurch songbird Hayley Westenra is engaged to marry her longterm partner, according to a British report. Moved by Dave to the appropriate thread.

Haha, this sounds a bit like the All Black wedding "rumor". But they're a bit off on Arnaud's age, although the age they say is actually Hayley's age, so they must've mixed it up. I do wonder how the London news got a hold of her family friend though... NZ paparazzi?

This is why I am suspicious. And if it's wrong it could be very hurtful to Hayley. I would love it to be true, but I'm waiting for proper confirmation. Of course, we shouldn't forget that this is a leap year! Martin D

Would you settle for a non-denial as confirmation? By now they would have gone overboard to squelch a false rumour of such magnitude, so we can infer from their silence that it's probably true.

Best said is least said at this stage. Nondenial if not true would only cause negative rather than positive questions to follow so I suggest our first loyalty to her is silence. I don't mean to presume, merely offering an opinion. There is a world of difference between private agreement and the decision to make a public announcement but this could be the reason we haven't heard of anything after the UK concert tour! Peter S.
