Honestly, if Hayley were to tour the US, she would only need to visit 7or 8 places to meet all her fans! Not a big tour, just enough concerts to cover good ground. I think it would look something like: 1.NYC, NY 2.Chicago, Illinois 3.Atlanta, Georgia 4. Austin, TX 5. Seattle, WA 6. Los Angeles, California 7. Somewhere in the Mid-west, maybe Kansas City. So just a small tour would cover a LOT of Hayley's fans here. If only... *sigh* And you're not alone Libby. I'm in the same boat. -Taylor i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifGreat list of cities. I would travel to any of them for a chance to hear Hayley in person. KC would be terrific. That's right in my back yard. BillR

Hello Taylor! You must add Scranton, Pennsylvania to the list, so Joe can meet Hayley! Richard

Hey Libby There's a lot of difference between "a few concerts in the US" and "breaking the states" but even the former could turn out to be a logistical nightmare with the amount of travelling; selecting the right venues and so on. I hope you do get to meet Hayley, I don't think anyone deserves that more than you Libby Best wishes Grant

Hello Libby.
I think Larry is making the mistake of which I have been guilty. I believed so much in her and particularly at so young an age that I went contrary to my own feelings. Great sensation, push to its limits. I happened to be mulling on Hayley the other day and thought there are different goals.
Rebecca Adlington 4times Olympic gold in her life is retiring at Hayley's age. She's "not a sprinter, everyone knows that". Different goals different paces, different races. What I think Hayley puts first is the collective whole of life. This is why her genre is her, the person, not style of music. She believes in exploring the world. It may also be that she is exploring herself and realising she's a succession of short bursts, not a long runner. More particularly, she is content with who she is and I think that knowing herself is important to her. It is on that inner knowledge that the depth of her emotion expressed in song is based and that is why it is so rich and deep.
She is not interested in fame for fame's sake but happy to be recognised for and appreciated for what she can do and to do it well. I think her first priority is to be happy with life and to live a good life. All else comes as it may.
I appreciate her and wish more could hear and experience her for themselves, hence the desire for her to "make it in America" but, as I used to quote on my Christmas cards to her: "What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare?"
She enjoys people, as a super star she could not do what I think she loves, meeting with fans and doing a signing at the end of a concert, be it a church or a concert hall. I think she understands what it is "to be". That is a great achievement particularly in someone so young.
I find the change on her Twitter page significant. She is finding her voice and beginning to strike out more openly with her inner thoughts.

I'm another one who is not meaning to imply that she could not do a concert tour in the States. She could. Obviously it would have to be financially viable, and decisions would have to be taken on how much promotion, but it is not impossible to go for small to medium sized venues. It is just a case of finding the will and the inclination to do it. She would relate to audiences and appeal to the same kind of people that she does everywhere else. That's why I've always disagreed with the idea that she needs to change herself into something different in order to appeal more widely to American audiences. She doesn't, and if she tried to do that she would no longer be herself. I don't think anyone wants that.

I hope you do get to meet Hayley, I don't think anyone deserves that more than you Libby Best wishes Grant I appreciate that very much, Grant. I'm not very informed on travelling logistics, so I'm curious as to why her travelling to the US would be any worse for her than say, travelling from the UK to Taiwan or NZ, even? She travelled here twice last year, and the year before. And from what I've heard, she probably stops over in the US on her way to NZ sometimes. I get that from those of you who keep track of what flights are going where, and all that. But, I still have this tweet exchange between Hayley and me from last September saved in my inbox, 6 days before my birthday too: Me: @hayleywestenra Please, will you convince your management to send you to Seattle on your next US visit? Or, at least the west coast! Hayley: @libbywa working on it, I promise I think this was when she mentioned the concert in NY.
