Yeah. Anyway, I disagree completely about the one concert at a time theory. Sure, maybe a tour is too much to hope for NOW, but I'm never going to give up hope for one until I'm DEAD. :rollin

I'm sure it will happen some day, Libby. Hayley's becoming a bit of an institution in Britain, and that probably means that sooner or later there will be a huge US tour. With the number of events she's taking part in (The Jubilee album, Sing just went to the top spot in the British album charts, for example) her profile is slowly raising. With a firm base here, she can more easily reach for the stars (& stripes! ).

Hello Paige! I like this comment: I believe Johann Strauss II once said: "I want to make music that would make a three-legged man get up and dance!" Richard

I have my own plan to help Hayley break the States. I'm spreading the word around Hollywood. I've sent a CD to mum's cousin Barbara Botfield who lives in Burbank, California. Barbara's daughter is actress Chelsea Field who is married to actor Scott Bakula (Quantum Leap, Star Trek, Desperate Housewives). I don't want to say anymore at the moment but the significance of this will become clear on Saturday in the Chat Thread.

How can I wait for Saturday now? What's so special about Saturday, anyway? I have never heard of either of those people, since I am most definitely NOT a fan of DH. And which Star Trek? I only remember Voyager and Enterprise, in my lifetime. Okay, I'll go look him up. Edit: I just saw his picture, and now I think I vaguely recognize him from ST Enterprise (and now I have Russell Watson's song in my head again ). Going by his imdb profile, I'd guess something to do with a play or broadway, as that seems to be part of his acting career. Killing me here, just killing me. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

I posted this in the "Future Hobbit Movies" thread in off-topic discussions, but I just thought I'd post it here, too, since the topic of Hayley singing for big blockbuster movies would certainly help her out in the States. Peter Jackson spoke at the San Diego comic-con yesterday, and he said that Howard Shore will be recording the score with the London Philharmonic Orchestra in about 5 or 6 weeks! I wonder how long it will take. 5 or 6 weeks is close to Hayley's concert in Wales, either before or after, so hopefully if she gets to sing for the soundtrack, everything will be timed right. But surely recording a score for a whole movie, maybe even both, would take more than a few days, so hopefully there'll be plenty of time for Hayley to record a song or 2. I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much about this (it's not working too well!). I keep trying to remind myself that if Hayley doesn't sing for the 1st movie, there's always the 2nd. And then Peter's even talking about a possible 3rd film (stuff they couldn't fit in the 2 movies, plus stuff in the appendices). And I'm still very excited about the movies with or without Hayley. I'm afraid I've gotten myself so obsessed with this possibility and worked so hard to make my requests known to Peter and now, finally Howard Shore. So, if Hayley's not involved at all, I'm afraid I'll let that ruin things for me. The music will be wonderful either way, and I'm sure he'll still choose really good singers, but I'll be very disappointed if all my efforts for Hayley go to waste. Oh well, like Elliot said once, if they don't choose Hayley, it won't be my fault. I've started following the LPO just in case they drop any hints about recording The Hobbit score.

Hi Libby,
I remember from somewhere that Hayley and Howard Shore had met! Can't quite place where. but I'm sure they are aware of each other. Your work might serve to remind him Libby, so stick to it!

Oh, Martin, you have no idea how well-versed I am on this entire matter. Howard Shore, Peter Jackson, The Hobbit, LOTR, soundtracks, etc. All my letters have been written and sent, including the last one sent recently to Howard Shore. I only just discovered an address to send it to, so that's why it was so late! The first two letters were to PJ, and yes, I mentioned everything of importance to him and Howard Shore. I hardly think Howard would have forgotten her, and Peter certainly knows who she is (going by the response to my first letter). Believe me, anything that you think I should have included in the letters, I most likely already did, plus more! Tolkien/Hobbit-related things you may not know much about, you know.
