Oh, I get it now. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Well, I hope it all works out the best way for the All Blacks; that's all I care about! Which is tougher to beat, South Africa, or Australia? NZ should be able to beat Argentina, shouldn't they?

I went to the fan zone in Hagley Park in Christchurch to watch the 2 quarterfinals. Wales were too good for Ireland winning by 22-10. Between the 2 matches the pre-teen band that I wrote about at Wednesday's Fiona Pears concert called The Head Turners played a few songs i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif. Then France were too good for England and won by 19-12. This means Wales will play against France in one semi-final.

Yes it was a superb display by Wales. A fitter side with an excellent defence, on this form they will give anyone a game. The French looked a different team from the one that lost to Tonga and were back to their best form. England made a slow start and looked nervy. I feel incidents off the pitch led to indiscipline on it with too many handling errors.16-0 down at half-time they scored 2 tries but the French got a late drop goal. Monsieur Sabard is probably happy with that result. I'm not !

So when do the All Blacks play? Going by FB comments, it appears it might be going on now... but I can't figure out from those comments for sure who is winning.

i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif All Blacks beat Argentina 33 - 10 but it took a long time to get the better of the Argentinians. Australia JUST beat South Africa 11 to 9. So NZ plays Australia in the other semi-final. I watched the game at the Hagley Park fan zone. Our Prime Minister was there too i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif. Not long after the NZ game started we had a 5.5 after shock. We could feel the ground roll and the music stage rocked a bit. This was the biggest quake since June. When I got home I had a few items in my bedroom to pick up off the floor.

I hope Hayley is ready for a NZ v France final! This looks more and more on the cards. Martin D That would definitely be interesting for Hayley I've seen absolutely nothing of the Rugby World Cup (I'm not a rugby fan), except for the opening credits a few times, and the All Blacks perform the Haka in their opening game. I'll probably tune in to see Hayley sing one of the anthems at the final though (depends on the time difference though! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif). Hopefully it will be the New Zealand one, as I like Hayley singing that one. It would be a proud moment for her.

Martin D That would definitely be interesting for Hayley Hello I-H-F and everyone, That would be no contest, Hayley would be rooting for the All Blacks! My brother and his long time fiance are ardent supporters of deadly local rivals Manchester United and Manchester City football clubs respectively - and nothing will ever shift them from that. I have to be very careful what I say when I phone their home on days when the teams play each other! Dave

But... won't beating Australia be kind of hard? Aren't they really good, too? Wouldn't it be horrible if Hayley had to sing the Australian anthem?! That might not go over well! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

Or even the Welsh one (if they beat France), that would be interesting! Martin D

Hey come on you all, is it "be nasty to Australia" day or something? We have four excellent teams in the semi finals and I'm sure Hayley will be delighted to sing any of the anthems if the All Blacks are eliminated - but yes, she has closer links with Wales and France these days so if she's given a choice, she would probably elect to sing theirs. Cheers, Dave

One thing is for sure: Australia v New Zealand is going to be a very tasty encounter. People are dismissing Wales v France as a sideshow but the Welsh are a young side who know no fear. Hayley laughed when someone tweeted that Wales would beat NZ in the final but the land of the red dragon may yet have the biggest laugh of all. Then again, if I could predict the future, I'd be a billionaire ! (I used to run a fortune-telling business but we had to close due to unforeseen circumstances )

Hey come on you all, is it "be nasty to Australia" day or something? Cheers, Dave No way! I just thought Hayley would prefer to sing the French or Welsh ones. Either would be much more challenging to sing because of the language issue - and we know Hayley excels at singing in many different languages. That leaves Will with the English langauge song. And remember, it was France that knocked the All Blacks out of the last World Cup! Martin D
