I am really disappointed with Decca / Universal's efforts on Hayley's behalf here in Ireland.
A golden opportunity was missed by not having Paradiso in Tesco stores nationwide.,The momentum of the initial release of the album and the regular radio play is now lost..
Marty Whelan had Paradiso as his album of the week on Lyric FM, We have spent the weeks since the albums release sending in requests to have tracks from the album played, with quite a bit of success, many of the listeners would be the supermarket buying type (Adult rather than the younger listener) They would probably have bought the album if they had spotted it in Tesco but are unlikely to deliberately go in to HMV or similar specialist outlets.
The big supermarkets spent years eliminating the small shops around them by selling books, Cds and electrical appliances. Now, the small record shop is a thing of the past. So it is really up to Decca to make sure Hayley's album is available in the most popular form of outlet, namely the supermarket.
