Great find, Jillian! I'll link to your post on our Facebook page. Richard Thanks Richard! They're great, hey? I've also posted them on the main site here: www.hayley-westenra-international.com/content/photo-shoot-rob-harper I also found these fab little watermarked images: Hopefully the reason these haven't been displayed in large unwatermarked versions is that they're destined for magazine publication - because they are just beautifully taken.

These photos are just stunning and are showing Hayley in a completely different light (no pun intended!). Again, congratulations to Bandana and Rob Harper. Excuse me while I go and have a lie down! Martin

Hi Jillian and everyone.
The Rob Harper pictures are superb. This is a photographer being artistic rather than taking photographs. There is a new aspect to Hayley brilliantly brought out. The b/w photo superb. It is nice to see a modern photographer appreciating the subtleties that can only be depicted in b/w. There is something seedy about these photos (some of them) particularly the b/w presumably taken 'back stage' showing the shoddiness of the reality behind the scenes. An almost 1930s rendition. They reminded me of The Third Man the seedy reality behind the glamour and public image. These photographs bring out a new side of Hayley, not Hayley as she is but as Hayley could be were she deciding to be an actress. it emulates the way she gets into her work and expresses herself from the inside. These photographs show an 'expanded' Hayley a further development in her understanding of herself and her art and what she can do when she pushes the boundaries.
There is a certain Bridget Bardot look about her and this in my view is the way to make Hayley a sexually attractive woman. To use a comparison, I regard the colour pics, especially the one on the Vespa, as a cheap form of bringing out her sexuality. The Robert Harper pictures bring out the real woman, a woman of life's experience, a woman of whom you feel it would be a challenge to invite out, a woman who knows the world and expects her man to be a man not a play thing; a man to mean business and not play around. This is the 'proper' way of promoting Hayley with a sexy image. These photographs speak of maturity, of dignity, of sophistication. These pictures do not actually promote sexuality, they state that Hayley is a mature woman and by that nature the pictures arouse the interest of Hayley for herself who happens to be a singer. This is someone in whom we should be interested as a woman first, then discover her musical talents. A striking new way of promoting the woman as opposed to her music. These pictures invite us to be interested in her as a person, not just as a singer.

These pictures are fantastic too- love the black and white one and the close up of Hayley in the jacket- lovely poses by Hayley and great work by the photographer too..I tried to make one my profile picture but it didn't work very well- it looked too small and couldn't make out Hayley very well :/ I think the other one I chose works (slightly) better :/ best wishes Sing

Wow. These photos are amazing! They are indeed very artistic - which of a lot of photo-shoot photos aren't. Very well done <3 Caite

Hi Jillian Great find! The monochrome images are incredible. As for the others - well - I agree with you Martin, we've moved away from the "little girl" look and Hayley's new "grown up" image is giving the photographers a little wider scope. Hayley has always seemed more comfortable with the one to one shoots compared to the likes of the Classical Brits free for all. FANTASTIC! Best wishes Grant

There is something seedy about these photos (some of them) particularly the b/w presumably taken 'back stage' showing the shoddiness of the reality behind the scenes. Careful Peter! I don't think many back stage areas look that bad - more likely the interior of a loading dock or basement - perhaps even a deserted factory. But you're right about the artistry. Rob Harpers images are well thought out and are 'created' as opposed to simply recording what's there. What's more, the monochrome images would not have worked in colour - there would have been far too much extraneous imagery. Put a beautiful woman in a beautiful location and you get a beautiful image -put a beautiful woman in a contrastingly ugly environment and you get a stunning image. Best wishes Grant

Best wishes Grant Ah but Grant, you are missing the rest of my text--I associated the look with the 1930s! Different world, different era and I can speak from experience, not of actually experiencing the 1930s--I may look that decrepit but I'm really not :je but from historical film and some backstage awareness in the 1950s. Any way, thanks for quoting me and your kind remarks. Peter S.

Hello everyone! I am going to say Ditto and Ditto to everyone's comments above me, especially Peter's comment, about how beautiful these pics are of Hayley. I really like them! I do have to say that I LOVE those black platform high heels with the gold cushion inlay!!! And I also LOVE the black dress as well as the leather jacket and jeans outfit! Me want!! lol I also noticed that Hayley is wearing a really nice ring on her ring finger- is there any significance? I thought I would ask. Take care, Alicia

The ones of her in the jacket are similar to one used in a magazine recently, the one where I said she looked too much like Avril Lavigne. It must be from the same shoot, so they already used one for a magazine. Just not these ones. She was smiling in that one. I don't like the dark makeup on her, though. It doesn't look like her. Especially in the one where she did smile, the dark eye makeup and the lipstick made her smile look strange, very unnatural. I like the other pictures better.

I don't know about anyone else, but I feel a big disconnect between these beautiful pictures and Hayley's primary art form, her music. They seem incongruous with her being a singer of the Paridiso type. Definitely more Avril-esque. Maybe even a nuance of Amy Winehouse in the second shot. Point is, she seems to be channeling anyone but Hayley! Not that that's a real problem, just a paradigm shift. Maybe this is a compromise re-imaging stemming from the failed attempt to "tart her up" from a few years back. Or maybe it's a "coming of age" message. Very lovely photos nonetheless.
