Oh, perhaps I should add, if you do take photos, please don't use flash. That too is very distracting, for both performers and the audience. Problem is, to get decent photos in most auditoria you need a good camera that will take satisfactory pictures in low light. Most compacts can't hack it.

I then plan to write a fuller report the next day, then Grant beats me to it. I sometimes have that awkward thing called "work" to do first. But I don't mind, Grant is a very good report writer, and an even better photographer as I'm sure you know. I'm trying to remember the last time I was at a Hayley concert that Grant wasn't at. I think it was in 2004!!! And I didn't know what HWI was back then. The cheque's in the post Martin! Best wishes Grant

Hi Jillian
I'll be looking forward to your report from your first concert - I remember the one Stephanie did for her first concert at Shepherds Bush. I almost - no! I actually do envy you seeing Hayley perform live for the first time - it is a truly mind blowing experience and I pray that you will get to meet her - you just have to OK?
Don't worry about taking notes - it's the last thing you will be thinking about anyway - I'm sure you'll remember every last detail without. I just note down the songs if there isn't a programme. If you need to do that just be discrete.
Best wishes Grant

Hi Grant and Jillian,
Yes, that's all I write down - the songs in case I can't remember the order of them afterwards.
I remember at once show Dave was surprised to see me writing down the names of the songs before Hayley had announced them. I think I told him I could read Hayley's mind or something (not the truth that I had heard her introduce those songs before).

I remember at once show Dave was surprised to see me writing down the names of the songs before Hayley had announced them. I often do that Martin - not difficult when you've heard the intro or Hayley's little chat about them so many times before like we have i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif In fact - I think it was Beverley Minster when Mark and I were sat very close to the front - I was doing just that and Hayley spotted me and pointed down to Mark and I saying something like "These guys know what I'm gonna sing before I tell you!" And I thought I was being very discrete! Hayley didn't seem to mind though. Best wishes Grant

She is probably pleased that we pay attention Grant.
But how could we not? We want to savour and memorise every second of her performance, then replay it with pleasure in our minds for weeks afterwards.
OK, I know I'm beyond help...

Alrighty peeps! We need a meeting place to gather before the concert?? All us HWIers in one place, woop! Also, if we could possible meet at a restaurant as opposed to a bar, that would be great, because I don't go to bars for cultural reasons. Looking forward to November, everyone! Dori

Dori The problem with restaurants is that they tend to be more expensive overall but perhaps an al fresco arrangement might fit the bill, because NZ is approaching summer, or late spring is it not by then? You certainly want to try and do what we in the UK manage. It is great fun to meet up and doing it as regularly as we in the UK do, even the 'core' membership changes and there is a good sense of camaraderie and if several of you are covering several concerts you really will have fun!
