Great interview but I didn't like Mark Forrest's remark afterwards about Hayley's "limitations," I assume because she said she wasn't an opera singer and had to find another way of singing "One Fine Day." Comments like that just play into the hands of sniffy people who dismiss crossover artists. Considering that Mark said that Classic FM also read the site, perhaps we shall hear an apology. Thank you Dave for sharing the interview with us. Hi Drew, During the interview when Mark mentioned that Classic FM "keep an eye on the Forum" my impression was that Mark was referring to the "Official" Decca Website Forum and some of the discussions of "up front" fans there . I may be wrong of course! Hayley then mentioned 'HWI'... with some very positive comments! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifAndrew

Hi guys, To be fair, the 'limitations' comment hardly registered for me as the presenter's remarks a few minutes earlier indicated that he admired Hayley's decision to create a unique interpretation and arrangement of "One Fine Day"; well that's how it sounded to me. But Mark Forrest should, perhaps, have mentioned the limitations of opera singers too - they cannot in general sing folk music well - or at all. For example, what opera singer has ever sung "Pokarekare Ana" as well as Hayley does? None! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifStuart and Roger, Yes i thought of that idea too last night but I haven't reached a conclusion yet. I think it would be a pity to lose the "Treasure" clips that currently greet visitors to the website, especially so early in its release schedule. A clickable link to it might be a better idea? I'm not sure... Cheers, Dave

I agree Andrew, I think he was referring to the 'official' Forum, and I think Hayley realised that and THAT is why she gave HWI her endorsement.
For me, that makes it even more special, because I think she was trying to get over, in her own sensitive way, that she feels there are more dedicated fans here.
Whatever the reason, bless you Hayley!!

Grant Hi Grant, I think you (and Andrew) are right there... but I'd clarify your use of "more dedicated fans" to mean "more numerous dedicated fans" or "a more active forum" because the other interpretation could lead to rivalry between the two forums and that is something we strive to avoid. Especially because many of us are active members of both forums! Cheers, Dave

Hello folks! Mark Forrest may well have been referring to Hayley's official forum, but I can't be certain. Anyway, our forum was so busy overnight I didn't have time to look at the official forum this morning. I looked at it just now, and since my previous visit there yesterday afternoon there have been three posts!!! I had to share that with you all! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifI suggest we leave the 'Treasure' clips as they are on the HWI main site, but perhaps we could add a note about Hayley's plug for us, with a link to a short clip. Best Wishes, Richard

Hi Dave, The comments made by Hayley will be 'timeless' therefore if we can't use them now why not wait until we need something new as an intro on the main site, it would be a shame not to give the comments a chance as a main intro, even if we leave it for a few months before we use it. Steve H
