www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGfzhvFHuLs Why is some strange lady singing "World in Union"? It was pathetic....so horrible. Shouldn't Hayley be singing this? I mean I don't really get it, I know that she'd be performing for the finals, and that she's the voice of ITV alone. But isn't she like the official singer for the official rugby world cup theme? I know I'm a noob at all this, because I'm only asking this based on what I know of FIFA, in the FIFA WC Shakira recorded the official song "Waka Waka" and she performed it every time. So my question is, Is Hayley's Word in Union for Rugby WC equivalent to Shakira's Waka waka for FIFA WC? or is it anything lesser D:

Hi Simba, Hayley is in the UK promoting her new album so how could she also be in NZ singing at the opening ceremony? I think it's as simple as that - the record company would make sure Paradiso came first unless it could be done from the UK (like the official recordings could). I think I read that Hayley's official recording will be played at each and every match - though I haven't watched any 'live' on TV yet to confirm it. Any Rugby fans here who have? You might hear it in the background behind the pre-match analysis. By October and the (more prestigious) closing ceremony most Paradiso promotions will be finished so Hayley can go in person to the main event - the final. Dave

Hi Dave and everyone.
Is it not the case that Hayley will be at the final, hence her planning a trip to Auckland, presumably to see her sister before going on to CHCH, perhaps with Sophie?

Yes, that's the right way. Sustained exposure over several weeks. Hopefully by the end of it, there will be nobody in any rugby playing country who has to ask "Hayley who?".

I've just found a French rugby world cup video which said 'featuring Hayley Westenra's World in Union' to be honest I was expecting to hear her French version but it was the English one playing in the background...Does anyone know when the French version will be released, I'm surprised it's not being played in France/ or somewhere by now best wishes Sing

Hi Jim,
Feel welcome to try, but I wasn't allowed to download it from either 7Digital or Amazon. It seems you have to be in France!

Hi Martin, I thought that might be the case. A few years ago I might have took a return channel crossing and recorded whilst I was in France. That would be too expensive now you can't get duty free goods. You can import CDs I wonder why you can't import digital files?
