Hello folks! I listened to the show too, and I agree Hayley and Tim gave a wonderful performance. I've found a photograph on Twitter: yfrog.com/kenbzyujWell done to Eugene for giving Hayley's concert in King's Lynn a plug. Richard

I'd be amazed if Kings Lynn wasn't already sold out!!
Or can we expect crowds and a big screen TV outside as in Taipei??

Hi Martin Many thanks for making this interview available for downloading as I've been out most of the day with no access to a radio - I listened to it before tea and really enjoyed it - nice and relaxed and the two songs were gorgious. Tim is one heck of a pianist! I'd be amazed if Kings Lynn wasn't already sold out!! Indeed Martin, Kings Lynn has been sold out for some time. Best wishes Grant

Thanks for doing that Paulo. I was planning to do it myself when I got time, for possible inclusion on my 2011 Hayley Yearbook CD. Saves me the effort!

Just listened to this again. Not only two fabulous performances by Hayley, not messed about with electronically so not made worse, but after Songbird Terry sounds as if he is totally overcome and lost for words. And that is saying something for someone whom I am sure has kissed the Blarney Stone. I guess he was just Hayleywowed. Join the club Terry.
I don't know if anyone has mentioned, it wasn't on the show, that Songbird is a song associated very closely with Eva Cassidy, who Terry Wogan was largely responsible for popularising in the UK. Perhaps he was overcome by realising he was in the presence of someone who could make that song sound even more beautiful than Eva.

Many thanks to Martin D, Richard and Paulo for the audio and photo of this excellent interview and performance by Hayley! I did record it but had a hectic day so have been a bit slow catching up with this one, however, you can now listen to the complete interview or the two songs separately on the HWI News page: Hayley on Weekend WoganThere is also a larger version of Sir Terry's studio photo (click the thumbnail to see it). Cheers, Dave

She sang Whispers in a Dream beautifully, of course, but it was very slow and drawn out compared to the album. Potential album-buyers will hear a beautiful voice, but they might be put to sleep, as well. The piano accompaniment just doesn't do it for me. It sounds nice, but just not as effective as the orchestra on the album. Songbird was wonderful! Very exciting to finally have some tour info!!

Libby you're totally right, the piano isn't the thing for this song. Firstly the piano and the singing didn't seem to match so greatly....and the sustained tone of the strings (oboe/ensemble violin) is what accompanies her voice best on this song, the mood and feel. But we know how awesome songbird was with the piano
