Hello, my name is Jeanne Weiss and I came across your website while doing genealogical searches. Apparently we have the same ancestors up to and including John Evans who was born in 1640. I was wondering if you could tell me how you did your research i.e. INTERNET or the old fashioned way of searching through dusty old books. Either way I would appreciate if you could tell me what website or what book (and where it is located) that you got your information from. I would love to add some more info to my records as I am missing some dates and spouse' names.

Hi Jeanne, welcome to this forum.
I am not sure, but as I understood it, your post seems very confusing to me. First, you have entered a forum that hosts a community of fans of the singer Hayley Westenra, from all over the world. So, we are not one people but many, and your post seems to be aimed at one person. If you are not specific, it's hard to guess who you are talking to.
And, there have been posts about Hayley's ancestry. some members doing an exhaustive research on that. If it is Hayley's ancestry you are talking about, let me clarify something. Hayley is not the author of the research and the posts talking about it here, it was done and posted by another person, and it is not Hayley's own website (you seem to be aiming your post directly to her), although we are very proud to have Hayley herself as a member and to knnow that she visits us occassionally. Just wanted to clarify that, because you seemed to assume that the person that the ancestry research was about is the same that has done that research.
Now, I'll let the people who know more about what you are asking give you an answer if they wish.
Michal

Thank you for replying back to me. This is a first for me in this type of formum. You were correct I thought this was Hayley's website. Hopefully whoever did the research will be kind enough to contact me. Once again thank you for replying and sorry if I interrupted the forum.

hello, sad to said I've never been to Ireland maybe someday before I die I will make it there. And what makes this more embarrassing is that I don't know who Hayley is. I just happened to see that we have the same ancestry up to a certain point.

Well Jeanne, if you poke around here for a bit you will soon find out who Hayley is. The young lady who inspired HWI and the other fan websites is one of the finest singers who ever drew breath. You will need to appreciate real music to realise what a wonderful talent she has, and she isn't even Welsh, although she probably has sone Welsh ancestry somewhere. There are so many aspects to singing I can't hope to list them all, but begin with power, range, control and the ability to sing in tune. There is a very good reason why so many of the worlds greatest living composers are so keen to work with her. If you listen to her music, I think you might come to understand.

Hi Jeanne,
i'm a distant cousin of Hayley's too lol... very distant... who is into genealogy. Hayley's tree just happened to be the first tree i did in an effort to see how i am related to the random English person (i picked Hayley because of her unique surname). i probably put well over a hundred hours into it (likely closer to the hundreds now that i think of it).
i'd be happy to IM you my research with regards to Hayley's tree up on Rootsweb.
Best as i can see Hayley descends from George Evans who was 1st Baron Carbery born 1680. More info on him:
Create 1st Baron Carbery, Cork Ireland on 9 May 1715 Held office of Member of Parliament (Whig) for County Limerick between 1707 and 1713. Governor of Limerick Castle on 12 Nov 1714. MP for Westbury between 1724 and 1727
i haven't worked on the Westenra tree for about 2 years IIRC... for a while i was putting much effort into finding out exactly how the New Zealand branch of the family was related to the Irish branch... and after i finally found the link i stopped putting in the research.
Feel free to contact me if it would be helpful.
best regards, Peter T.
