I've confirmed with the organiser that the price is $250 plus GST per person. There are no cheaper options. She acknowledged that this event is not for everyone. I'm also not going because of the price.. I could probably scratch together the money myself, and I would love to go. But I couldn't bring myself to go alone, and there's no way I could convince someone else to go for the price. There's also the added detail that Hayley is "performing too" - she probably wouldn't have a huge amount of stage time considering the number of performers. So to conclude - unless someone is keen to shout me a ticket, I won't be there .

It doesn't appear that they think she's a very prominent star anyway. They list her separately, down lower in the article, and the other article in the link Richard posted doesn't mention her at all.

I agree Jono. I wouldn't want to go alone, and finding someone who's willing to pay that price is a bit unrealistic. I certainly wouldn't pay that much for a concert that wasn't solely Hayley's!

They do seem to be putting more emphasis on the other performers, but I wouldnt think shes any less prominent than the others.. Before now I had no idea who Don McGlashan is...had only heard the name. Anika Moa is well known - but I would think less so than Hayley (I'm just talking from a NZ point of view). Tim Finn would be right up there in the NZ music legends though, but hey, so would Hayley! So it really doesn't make sense why they aren't emphasising Hayley's presence to appeal to a wider audience... :-/who knows..

I think, Jono, it's because Hayley has a very specific targeted audience, whereas someone like Anika Moa is someone who anyone and everyone can kind of listen to in the background. Hayley isn't like that. You have to listen to her voice attentively, because it is so precious of a voice. Anika Moa is what I call the 'common voice'. Dori

Yet Hayley is the only one of those I have ever heard of. And the only one I would pay money to listen to, until sombody convinces me otherwise.
Or in other words, Hayley is an international artist. The others are only local. They don't know how lucky they are that Hayley doesn't have an ego!
