Hi All, Just wanted to say thanks for all the comments in this thread, the Memorial Service was very moving indeed. Thanks also to Dave and the team for getting the videos and messages from Hayley up on the website so quickly! Safe journey back Hayley. Steve

It’s a shame that the normal news on the basic channels didn’t concentrate a little more on Hayley, they showed plenty of footage of the Prince but only a very short snippet of Hayley, it would have been really good publicity for her for people to hear her voice. If you search for it there is plenty but the average person watching the news didn’t get to see much of Hayley. its a shame. BUT very moving wasn't it. thanks to all for the reports Much love Tracy

The U.S. coverage only showed a little bit of Prince William, but of course nothing else about the service, let alone Hayley. Not very surprising, of course.

Hello everyone,
This is a plea for help!
I have some extra videos at high quality of Hayley interviews, the National Anthem, and Pokarekare Ana. You've probably all seen or heard them already but the one I like best is Pokarekare Ana, sung after the service itself concluded.
TVNZ seems to be the only station to broadcast Pokarekare Ana and I have that, but the announcer talks over the first verse and that rather spoils what is otherwise a beautiful performance by Hayley.
Does anyone know of ANY audio or video recording, anywhere, of Hayley's first verse of this performance of Pokarekare Ana, i.e. not talked over? Even if it's just a clip of the first bit, in for example a news report. I could then dub it onto the video I have to produce a complete version, accompanied by images of the damage to Christchurch.
If there are none, I'll do the best I can with it and post it in a few days time (Juliette already posted the audio, talked over version). I'll post some of the other videos I have, too.
Cheers, Dave

Hi Dave
Unfortunately TVNZ were the only braodcaster recording the event. Everyone else was just taking a feed from them. I can check with the sound company to see if they recorded everything as they were using their new toy which records all 60 channels coming into the desk. I figure it's fairly unlikely that they will have been recording but you never know
Cheers John

Hi everyone,
I just realised that on Australian Itunes you can download for free the videos of Hayley's segment on Close Up and Breakfast. How interesting.
Cheers, Jillian

If anything, there could eventually be amateur videos that pop up. There was already one of the NZ anthem. It wasn't even the whole thing, though, but at the end it shows the singers hugging each other, in particular, Dame Malvina and her prize pupil.

They were doing so well using newer media shots of Hayley, and now they're back to another old one. And they're still calling her an opera singer. Hi Libby, I am totally biased of course but I like that photo and it's also an HWI photo! Steve

Hi Dave
I checked with the PA company. They didn't record the audio as TVNZ was recording it. Sorry but you might have to go with what you have.
Cheers, John

Thanks for the article, Richard. I'm not saying I don't like the picture, Steve; it's great, and it looks very professional. But I just think it's better to use more current photos of Hayley. That photo is almost 5 years old now, isn't it? Plus, I've never liked that much makeup on Hayley, and her makeup nowadays has been nicer, in my opinion.

Hi everyone, I have now uploaded to hwivid on YouTube the video from TVNZ of the devastated Christchurch central business district. This is accompanied by Hayley's live performance of Pokarekare Ana at the Christchurch Memorial Service on 18 March 2011. www.youtube.com/watch?v=AhnSvW1NA3gThe first 30 seconds of the audio has a commentator's voice-over, but the rest is pure Hayley. Cheers, Dave
