Thanks to Ross for the detailed report.
I haven't watched all the videos yet, but I thought Hayley's performance of 'Amazing Grace' was incredible. She really kept control, even though you could tell she was very close to tears.
I'm looking forward to seeing more from the service later.
Best wishes,
Richard

Hello everyone
Still feeling very emotional after staying up to watch the memorial service live from Christchurch.
Many thanks Ross for your report - I am so glad you got to say hi to Hayley and to thank her on behalf of HWI. I know that will mean a lot to her. I have just watched Hayley's second performance of Amazing Grace - that must have been so difficult for her but the fact that she shows her emotions with a few tears says everything to me - she is who she is and she will never pretend to be anything different and for that I admire her beyond words.
Thank you too, Juliette for the MP3's of Hayley's performance. I would normally agree about someone talking over a song but I think, in this instance, it puts the song in context - it was impromptu; at a unique and very special event and it was Hayley doing what she does best, so I'm happy to have that bit of dialog to remind me of that.
Love you Hayley! Kia Kaha! Grant

What an amazing night. I'm glad I stayed up to watch it, (also glad I'm not at work today) and so proud of Hayley.
That must be the most powerful and poignant rendition of Amazing Grace I have ever heard. Hayley got it spot on, as I always knew she would.
Hayley you are the best. Christchurch is very lucky to have you, and so are we.

And thanks for the recordings and links guys. My own setup now records every video I ever play through my browser, with an option to save it afterwards, but the quality as I watched was not good, picture kept breaking up. So glad to have been able to download better quality ones.

Hi everyone,
Thank you very much for the videos.
What a performance of Amazing Grace by Hayley - especially with no music backing. You can tell it was truly sung from the heart.
I also thought that Prince William made a very good speech - 'Grief is the price we pay for love'. How very true and profound.

I started watching the service live through the link provided byHWI, but... shortly after Prince William's speech I had to go to sleep, as today I had classes in the university. So, thanks to everyone for the reports and the media... Breathtaking performance by a clearly thrilled Hayley... Definately it was the most stunning Amazing Grace by her so far, and probably by anyone ever.... Waiting for the video to be uploaded by Dave to HIWvid to share it on Facebook. And thanks, Ross for not forgetting about HWI... A very big hug and the sweetest thoughts to our dear Hayley, her family and everyone in Christchurch affected by the earhquake...

I don't like to sound greedy, but did anyone get a video of the NZ National Anthem with Hayley leading?

Hello everyone, It's been a busy day for me (and will be tomorrow too) but I have managed to get Hayley's amazing Amazing Grace uploaded to HWIVid on Youtube, it is here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=5mnTKN8LuiY
I appreciate that a good quality version is already on YT, but I thought we should have our own version for maximum quality, which was kindly recorded for us in NZ. And now for the nice surprise that I mentioned. Not only did our member John meet Ross at North Hagley Park yesterday (I'll do that video later) but he also spent some time with Hayley, who has recorded a message for HWI and all her fans: Hayley's Message To HWIIt is medium quality flash video and I will upload a higher quality later - John filmed it at broadcast quality, thanks John! And especially, thank you Hayley!!! Dave
