Thanks for the banners, Jillian! I believe you have a wide-screen computer, so I resized them all to 800 x 227 pixels. Thanks for the ticket link, Mr Yang. I'll add it to our new website. Best wishes, Richard

Yes, Stephen, she took lessons during her holiday back in NZ early this year. So at the very least she knows how! I don't recall her ever saying she took the test to get a license. You'd think she'd want to take it soon after learning, so you remember everything better.

Hayley will sing a famous Taiwanese folk song as an encore in her Taiwan concerts! The exciting news just came out: news.msn.com.tw/news1876621.aspxThe song "雨夜花" (Flowers in the Rainy Night) is a classic traditional Taiwanese song. I'm really impressed by Hayley's language talent, for Taiwanese is a language that has more tones than Chinese, and it is harder to speak or even sing for foreigners. For fans who hadn't heard this song before, here is a video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qke67CiYR_Y . It was sung by the queen of Taiwanese songs, 江蕙. In the last part of the video, she made a fabulous duet with the one the only, Domingo.

Thanks for the new information Blueleslie, that's great news and i'm sure Hayley's performance of the song will be very popular!
Changing the subject slightly, I thought it worth mentioning that on the HWI website, the percentage of unique visitors to the site this week so far has been 12% from China, behind only the US (54%). This is far higher than usual and is obviously due to the Shanghai concert. From Taiwan, the percentage is 3% (5th place).
Youtube unfortunately provide no statistics for China (Joe, do we have any for China in the forum?)

Youtube unfortunately provide no statistics for China Dave Maybe that explains the curious lack of any hits on my channel from China. Martin D

According to this news ( tw.news.yahoo.com/article/url/d/a/100929/78/2dy7j.html), the 2 Taiwan concerts will be with different repertoires. The Kaohsiung concert at the K-Arena will be more classical, with symphony orchestra accompaniment; while the Taipei concert at the National concert Hall will be more pop, with Hayley's own band. In the article, she said that she's very interested in playing a role in costume drama movies like "Pride & Prejudice". I just got a National Concert Hall's monthly program brochure, in which Taipei concert set-list was partially revealed: Both Sides Now Wuthering Heights Amazing Grace Danny Boy Scarborough Fair Songbird Yuki no Hana (Snow Flower) Prayer My Heart Belongs to You (And the 雨夜花 [Flowers in the Rainy Night] as I mentioned a few days ago)

My Heart Belongs to You? Has she ever done that one live? Let us know if she really does sing it! I hope we can hear the Taiwanese song somehow. The video of the Taiwanese lady singing it was really nice, and it would sound so beautiful with Hayley singing it!

Thanks to Wendy at Bedlam, we now have a larger version of that cool Shanghai poster and permission to use it on the main site, so it's on the front page now (scaled down to fit the width). Here it is in the largest size I can post in the forum: Cheers, Dave

Yes lovely traslations. "Gosh Groban" Also Pure has sold 200 million copies! That would make it the best selling album of all time worldwide, with twice the sales of Michael Jackson's "Thriller". If only.... Martin D
