Hi everyone, I have uploaded to our Youtube channel hwivid Hayley's performance of a very abbreviated "Santa Lucia" followed by a short interview with Michael Ball, just before the performance by the two competitors. This was all part of The Ballette Challenge - a light hearted regular competition on his show. Hayley also took part in the short initial chat that he has at the start of the show, with all the main guests of the day. Here is the short Santa Lucia clip & short interview www.youtube.com/watch?v=mX9RHfVU7MgThis evening, I will post in the forum (only) a longer version including the complete competition. Cheers, Dave

Great video Dave! Nice to see a TV appearance after these months lacking Hayley's presence on the small screen.
A very short, but nicely sung Santa Lucia, it is such a lovely song! If Hayley was showing how to sing, well, she rather achieved it... However, my favorite performance of the song is still the one at the Variety Club Awards.

Hi all, This in my opinion was a sad use of Hayley`s talents. The whole thing with the two singers was a pure farce.

Hi Stephen. It was a bit of fun on a daytime TV show, not the Festival of Remembrance. It took a lot of nerve to do what those two young ladies did, so well done to them! Anyone who wants to see Hayley's part in this can view it on the ITV Player for the next month (in the UK) here: www.itv.com/itvplayer/video/?Filter=169263Or for those who cannot view ITV Player, you can download one of two files I've uploaded, they are identical apart from the codec used to create the file. The video in both cases is nominally rather low bitrate at 700 kbps, to keep the file down to a reasonable size. Hayley on Michael Ball Show (AVC h.264) 6m 19s - 46MB - 800 kbps - best quality. Hayley on Michael Ball Show (WMV) 6m 19s - 38MB - 800 kbps - slightly lower quality. Right-click and save whichever version you think your computer will play - if neither will play, try VLC Player from here: www.videolan.org/Cheers, Dave

I like Hayley's top, and her hair is really nice, too. It was a good choice for her to go shopping!

Thanks for the videos, Dave! I see you've posted a news item on our website, but perhaps a screenshot of Hayley would add a nice visual touch. Hayley looked very relaxed, sang beautifully and I really liked her hair and outfit too. I'm not so sure about the girls' performances, but it was only a bit of fun after all. I reckon Hayley would make a brilliant chat show host, so I hope she gets the chance before too long. Richard

Hi Dave and everyone It was a bit of fun on a daytime TV show, not the Festival of Remembrance. It took a lot of nerve to do what those two young ladies did, so well done to them! I couldn't agree more! It must have been quite daunting for the girls to actually perform in front of Hayley but, as you say Dave, it was just for fun and gave Hayley some daytime TV exposure - she certainly seemed to be enjoying herself! And yes Richard, I'm sure Hayley will have her own chat show one of these days! Best wishes Grant

Ok, if it was for fun, then they achieved it, I can't help laughing... I would have done that better, and believe me, I CAN'T sing.
The contrast between the performances of Hayley and those two quite points out the great voice projection Hayley has, which is important even when singing with a microhpone.

Lucky for the ladies it was Hayley judging their talents and not Simon Cowell. They wouldn't have lasted 2 seconds !

Hi Dave and all, I understand that this was supposed to be a bit of fun but it just seemed too false. It was hardly as if they had just been picked from the audience and no doubt they practised beforehand. It was awful and should not have been used even on daytime tv.This is of course only my own opinion and is in no way critical of Hayley. An ordinary chat with Hayley and a full song from her at the end of the show would have been much better. Hopefully she will get an invite back around new album time.I could not find any Tv listing that even said Hayley was on the show!!.
Stephen.

I just watched the youtube. I wasn't really interested in the competition.
Peter, I don't hear a "G" when Hayley sings Shenandoah, at least I've never noticed.
