Thanks for the info Tony - it's very good news as I've since discovered that it would cost a fortune to have my Toshiba DVD player converted!! As Richard commented, let's hope we don't have to wait until the end of March, but then I guess we'll be able to get it over the counter when it is released. Grant

Hello again everybody! I've just remembered there is another thread titled 'Celtic Woman - A New Journey DVD' on the DVDs board HERE, so I have quoted Tony's post on that thread for information. I suggest this thread should be used for reviews of the performance as seen on TV, with all matters relating to the DVD being discussed on the other thread. Best Wishes, Richard

Hi,did everyone notice that in the PBS show that the sound was duded in after the video was flimed,at least for the vocal part & Mairead's violin?..to me this tend to make it seem like they were faking it.Like what we heard over the air wasn't what they were singing to the live audience, however I still enjoyed it greatly ,each time i saw it,enjoying it more & more, the several times i saw it thur most of the month of january. To me, "Hayley" seem to be the stand out, then a bit later, also "Mairead".I too will be looking for the DVD when it comes out & on the lookout where to get "Hayley"s" CD's & DVD for the lowest price.

Hi Steve, I can't say I noticed that but I have only seen a few clips and not the whole programme. I will have to pay more attention next time and not be mesmerized by Hayley! I am sure there are many of us in the UK who hope to obtain the DVD but we have to wait until it is available in the correct format with the suitable regional coding. That may delay its arrival somewhat. Roger

Hi Steve and Roger, From the clips I've seen, I'd say there was some lip-syncing to previously (or more likely, subsequently!) recorded tracks going on. This sort of thing annoys me - and there is certainly no evidence of it on Hayley's DVD, where "Live" meant exactly that. It may be that syncing is the normal production method of a producer who, perhaps (I don't know!), is born of the pop music Industry but more likely, I suspect it's because the weather on the evening (or was it two?) of the recording was miserably cold and showery - and this may have affected the girls or the audio quality. If that's the reason, I'll forgive them and I'll certainly buy it! Cheers, Dave

There was a huge debate going on about lip-synching in the reviews section of Amazon, for CW's first DVD. A reviewer by the name of "D. Henderson" wrote this: The rest is available here: www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/discussions/start-thread.html/ref=cm_srch_res_rtr_alt/102-7552457-8394527?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B0007M22TI&reviewID=R20AKCTM0FF7BISo that basically proves it... I don't know about this concert but I highly doubt that the girls would be singing when it was so cold you could see their breath. And their dresses were pretty tight -- I imagine it would be hard to breathe/sing in those while moving around as much as they did. But I, for one, don't really mind. The purpose of a DVD is to put a visual to the music, and that's what Celtic Woman did -- lip-synched or not! Oksy

yes,i can see where the weather may have played a part in it.I too saw Hayley's breath on one of her close ups.if there was for sure lip-syncing gonig on,it was still the girls's voices that is heard 7 that's what really matters & the way the show was put together still made it an enjoyable show to watch. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

Hello Oksy! I fixed your link to the review by adding noubbc tags. The Proboards software has trouble with long URLs. If the weather was windy at Slane Castle when the concert was filmed, there may have been problems with the microphones popping, in which case some dubbing would have been necessary to produce an acceptable sound. It's one of the hazards of live recording in the open air. I will definitely buy the DVD when it is available in the UK format. There is a thread for discussions about the DVD on the DVDs board HERE. Best Wishes, Richard

I have spoken to many of the people who were there including a couple who were in the first row. There is no lyp-syncing gonig on. Some have said the same thing about the live shows on the tour and I can tell you that I have been to 6 live shows so far sitting at various points in the first few rows at each of them and I can tell you that I can hear their unamplified voices. THERE is NO lyp-syncing gonig on...EVER!!!.
