I'm listening to a song from Michael Buble's latest CD (Call Me Irresponsible). The song is called It Had Better Be Tonight. It's a lively song with lots of rhythms and makes me want to get up and salsa or merengue...good thing no one was here to see me this afternoon. <3 Caite

Listening to regina spector and chiming in every so often...I love her voice jumping up and down ( well , that's how I think of it...). I listened to Vittorio Grigolo again...what a tenor...love him ! Also listened to Anna Netrebco and Maria Callas perfoming *O Mio Babino Caro*...what a blessing that was ! Must purchase an Album ! I listen to my new CD by *FEIST*, very interesting voice... Love, Marianne

Hi everyone I might be accused of being off topic here, as this is more a case of what I was not listening to In order to help Caite get to the BBC Cardiff concert, I gave her a lift - despite spending many hours in the car and having a tray full of Hayley CD's, I have just realised we didn't listen to anything at all Mark

Lets see -
Doing work: Jack Johnson - In Between Dreams MP3 Player - Hayley Other times - John Denver, Nina Simone and Pogues
Thats what I listen to latley. I have a huge music collection and since hearing Hayley, changed a bit. Don't listen to "Avril Lavigne" no more like I used too. Too hard for my liking.

At the moment this post records its time and date fifteen minutes late as I work on this post at home, sitting at my now, after nearly forty years of use, somewhat battered, beige, chamfered leather-topped, gold-tooled, yew-inlaid desk with cantilevered brass desk lamp, keying my laptop, the rest of the desk scattered with papers relating to half-a-dozen projects currently passing through my hands. The sound from Windows Media Player, heard through Panasonic rather than Seissennhier [?spelling] (preferred) wi-fi headphones is 'Hayley Westenra', the CD to which Roger pointed me under another thread thirty minutes ago, as to where one could obtain a recording of Hayley singing 'Amazing Grace' to the accompaniment of a solo piper. I of course played that track first, a couple of times, before settling down to hearing the whole CD again. Now threads. Oh dear, should I find a thread to cross over to, or am I still on topic. to observe the difference between then and now? But since I am describing what the music I am hearing means to me at this moment, I reckon I'm on topic. I was not one of the earlier ones to post here but in the last two or three years I have noticed, as I have attended concert after concert through those years, the maturing of her voice, of her control, of her interpretation. Yet listening back seven years in recordings, I remain astounded at the freshness of that voice. The excitement of this 'new' voice remains. Oh wow! To realise how much has passed on since then. Yet to know that even then, without knowing the details what is to me history, one somehow already experienced at that time what was to come. She's maintained all her promise, all the excitement one dreamed for, fantasised it, incredible though at that time it must have seemed and it has all come to fruition. You are amazing lady, truly amazing. Very well done indeed. Love Peter S. ADDENDUM. I forgot to mention. of course another topical point! On this record is 'Somewhere' from 'West Side Story'. What fascination it is going to be to hear her modern version of it: the same song in direct comparissn.
