the charming and endearing Lisa Hannigan, she has a lot of space on my Sky box recorder from Other Voices and with the RTE Concert Orchestra from the NCH in Dublin.

As recommended by Marty Whelan. Song arrangers are the unsung heroes of album production and this is a beautiful version of the Francis Lai classic, ideal music for a warm Summer evening. (Richard told me once that Vevo is owned by Universal so I can post this without fear of infringing copyright).
From the album "Rise."

If you're a fan of Radio 4's "Soul Music" then you'll know next week the song is "Streets of London" by Ralph McTell. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b008mj7pand here's a live version with classical guitarist John Williams.

It's weird the way knowing one recording changes another.
You'll know what I mean if a certain set of lyrics start to come to mind...........

Ah yes, the real John Williams Yes, marvellous video posted by Jeff. I used to stay up late way back in the 1960s, to watch and listen to the real John Williams' prerecorded 15 minute classical guitar slots he often had on Granada TV. Happy days - even though I was Beatles (and others!) fan at the time.

and that explains why I have film soundtracks that I didn't really want.
there is also another Patty Smyth (Chalkdust, Wimbledon) who is not Patti Smith, more cds I didn't really want..

and Cavatina was made into a song. The best version of this I've heard was on Camilla Kerslake's debut album, sadly not available on video but Cleo Laine is also good.
and talking of the other John Williams, I've found a video of your local orchestra, Comet !

Thanks Jeff, Mia has been just over Hayley's shoulder at most of Hayley's concerts in Dublin, Limerick and Belfast over the last 12 years. you can see her between the seats and then the woman on the left seat obliges the viewer by moving to the left to give you a better view of Mia and there is a clearer view at the end of this video from Belfast taken by some concert bootlegger and hosted by our very own Jillian Clio Laine, Johnny Dankworth and John Williams set up a sort of Crossover Music college of sorts decades ago, possibly late 60s or early 70s
