There was a statement by Paul Gambaccini regarding 'no flash photography' so we were able to get some pictures without flash, although the camera police were in evidence and other than HWI not one other single camera was seen, so we needed to be sensible with when we took the pictures, mainly during applause.Steve H

Thank you Steve for that aperitif.
It is surprising to see Hayley looking down at the music. You must have captured the one occasion that she did. (The rest of the time she was looking up at the fourth row.)

Hi Steve I'll second that "Wow" - they are some lovely shots I have to say that I wasnt aware of you taking any photos - so very well done. I noticed a security type person standing near to the door the performers used, who must have been aware but thankfully turned a blind eye Thanks again Steve and I look forward to some more as and when you have time to post them. Best regards Mark

Hi Everyone Just a few more notes to add to last night's concert but I'm quickly running out of fresh superlatives to describe Hayley's performances recently. It was stupendous. In fact I can only repeat what Michael Xavier (who played Tony) mouthed to Hayley immediatley after the duet "Tonight" - PERFECT!
(I actually missed this but it was Grant who picked up this marvelous impromptu comment).
What I didn't fail to notice at the end of the concert after a great ovation from the audience was that Hayley, about to leave the stage, clapped her hands at the audience or to be more precise at the FOURTH ROW.
I thoroughly enjoyed this concert and the WSS section was even better than at Woburn. All the performers were clearly enjoying themselves and I personally think that Michael was a good choice for Tony. He had more a musical theatre singing voice than Vittorio's powerful operatic voice but still blended in well with the part and of course with Hayley.
Finally, I must stop going to these concerts (only joking) as I can't sleep properly for 48hrs afterwards!
Martin

Hi Martin, First of all, thanks ever so much for your spare ticket! And yep, I too noticed the hand clapping aimed towards us; she definately saw that we were there ~Chris

Hi Steve, Very nice I've been looking at a Minolta that is similar, except that it takes CF cards, which means that I can swap between that and my DSLR.. Either way, I think that I need to pick up another camera at some stage Thanks again for the fantastic pics, and I'll be looking forward to the ones from outside later on.. Regards, Chris

Thanks everyone for their comments so far and thank you Steve and Chris for the wonderful photographs. It was a truly wonderful evening and I am now going to quietly secrete myself away for a little while to prepare my offering from this concert.
As a well know movie character would say "I'll be back"
Best wishes Grant
