Hello Richard and Thomas and Cathleen (thanks!) and everyone When I realised Richard couldn't view this file, I converted it into a windows media file and at the same time I asked in the ClassicalX forum for permission to repost it here. I'm sure they will agree... but it's proper to ask, especially as one of the ClassicalX staff posted it! Watch this space... we SHALL overcome! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifCheers, Dave

Hello Thomas and Dave! Thomas, I have to download RealPlayer whenever I want to use it in the Internet Café. I believe it is version 10, but then it tells me I also have to install QuickTime on the computer before I can play the file. I've even tried to download an earlier version of QuickTime, without success. Dave, thanks for converting the file, and now I'm hoping ClassicalX will give you permission to post it. Fingers crossed! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest Wishes, Richard

Hello everybody! I've made many attempts to watch the clip, all without success, but now I know why. I've just tried to watch it in RealPlayer, only to find out that it requires QuickTime, which cannot be downloaded on the computers here in the Internet Café! I give up! Richard Shame Richard. Sorry about that. Peter S.

Hi Richard! Files with the ending .mov are QuickTime movies and that programme opens automatically when I double-click on the file after I've downloaded it. But on my computer it runs also with RealPlayer. I have version 10. What version do you have in the Internet Café? Can you update there if necessary? The host www.cshare.de won't keep the movie forever so I downloaded it and keep it on my harddisk to post it online again if necessary. At the moment I don't know how to convert the movie into another format like mpeg. I'll try to find out something. Maybe someone else knows? Thomas Sounds as though Richard is having a similar problem to the one I had with something else. I got it in the end by playing around with the buttons on the default console on the web. I think by RIGHT clicking one of the buttons gave me an option of 'Play' but addionally 'Play RealPlayer'. Any hekp or am I simply confusing further? Peter S.

Hi all, Yesterday at the guest book of the german Hayley-Homepage www.heyleywestenra.de somebody (Ute and Willi) wrote that Hayley was singing on german TV-station MDR last Wednesday, 24 th of May 2006 in a “show” which was called “BILD OSGER 2006” I was not watching this show, because I had no information about this performance of Hayley. Also till today I don’t know what song Hayley was singing. Greetings, Lothar Greetings Lothar. This once again raises questions we have looked at before--is Decca's promotional team as on the ball as it should be? If someone like you missed such a show, then many more might have watched had they known in advance. How come this lack of promoting her appearances? Peter S.

Hello Richard and everyone, xotic in the Classical X Forum kindly agreed that we can use this video how we like, so I'll post the converted version now. It's about 13 MB in Windows Media, roughly the same size as the original but the size of the original was very small so overall quality when expanded is lower than what we usually post. It's a nice performance though, as others have said. Here it is. I noticed that the programme directors slipped up at the start, they clearly were expecting a short musical intro before Hayley started singing... but in "Prayer", there isn't one. So their 'cut' to Hayley looked rushed and she was initially off at the side of the screen... they even missed (or nearly missed) Hayley's first note... i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifCheers, Dave

Hello Dave! Many thanks for the conversion. I just watched the clip on Media Player 9 and thought the picture quality was very reasonable while the sound was superb. As xotic has very kindly agreed that we can use the clip as we wish, I hope Simon will post it on the HWI main site, because it deserves a permanent place in the archives. It was another wonderful live performance by Hayley, and I also enjoyed the dance in the background. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest Wishes, Richard

Hallo Dave, our “SUPER-video guy”, Hi all, Dave many thanks for your work to present us this show act of Hayley. Something about „Goldene Henne“. „Goldene Henne“ is a TV-award for musicians, famous people of different areas of the actual society like sportsman, politician, charity, etc. At the homepage www.goldene-henne.de you can find more information (in german language only). Every year is a special TV-show on MDR, which broadcast the awarding of this award ”Goldene Henne” This is an award of a weekly journal “SUPERillu” (it is a little bit like ‘yellow press’, but not only). The voting is of the readers of this weekly magazine. The award is mady by “SUPERillu”, MDR (local TV-station in Germany - mostly situated in the territory of the former German Democratic Republic) and “Friedrichstadtpalast” . Friedrichstadtpalast is a famous show theatre in Berlin (eastern part). The History of the name “Goldene Henne”: In the former German Democratic Republic (GDR) was a very well known entertainer (TV, movies, shows theatre, etc). Her name was Helga Hahnemann. The people in the GDR called her “Big Helga” or “Henne”. She died by cancer on September, 20 th 1991. So this award got the name “Goldene Henne” to remember and honour her also. A picture of Hayley you can find at www.super-illu.de/goldenehenne/preis/index.html right column - second superPix. Then click at the text (link) Goldene Henne 2006 Showstars auf der Bühne (show stars on stage). This link takes you to some photos of the stars of this TV-show. Picture 4/18 is Hayley. There is written:>>Hayley Westenra - she was singing together with Carreras and Andrea Bocelli as a duet.<< Regards, Lothar

Thanks to Lothar for the information, and to Graeme for posting the photograph of Hayley. I found the whole gallery quite interesting. It includes a few photographs of Katie Melua and one of "Ten Tenors", but I can only see nine of them! Here is a direct link to the gallery:- www.super-illu.de/framework/popups/galerie_popup_13752.html/g136683Click on the arrow to scroll through the pictures. Best Wishes, Richard
