I claim the forum's 100,000th post yay!!!!! Ah, but if it wasn't for Sandy, your post would have been 99,999! Come to think of it, if it wasn't for Sandy, your post would have made no sense whatsoever and you would have been up the proverbial creek without a paddle. Sandy, congratulations for coming third and can Grant borrow your raft, please? Roger PS. I claim the forum's 100,001st post yay!!!Anything you can do, I can do better...

Errrrr Congratulations on third place Sandy!!!! Well in that case, congratulations for coming 100,000th, Grant! Why do I need to borrow Sandy's raft if I'm only up the creek without a paddle?!! You could break it up and make a paddle! I dunno, do I have to think of everything?! Oh yes, HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY to all our Australian members! Roger

Thanks Roger & Sandy & All, Here's the guff : Australia Day, 26 January, is the anniversary of the arrival of the First Fleet of 11 convict ships from Great Britain, and the raising of the Union Jack at Sydney Cove by its commander Captain Arthur Phillip, in 1788 (to read a comprehensive history of the evolution of Australia Day, click here). www.australiaday.org.au/experience/page77.aspGraeme PS I am an Australian Citizen by choice having arrived in Sydney NSW from North Cheam Surrey UK as a 10 year old kid & eventually choosing citizenship. PPS I notice that a vote was taken a few days ago "shall we keep that flag" Answer was 84% Yes. I love the flag !! PPPS As a contrast here's the NZ Flag.

Happy Australia Day to all of my wonderful friends Down Under! Hey Sandy, I had a dream that I went rafting once. But the paddle was heavy and I could only use it on one side of the raft, and only when the sun was shining. Well, when I woke up, my bedside lamp was in still in my hand. And my glass of water had spilled onto the floor ! Enjoy ! Joe

Last night I dreamt I was eating a giant marshmallow. When I woke up this morning, the pillow had vanished! I hope all our Australian members enjoyed Australia Day yesterday and don't forget, if you want your boomerang to come back, first you've got to throw it! www.youtube.com/watch?v=dE-VPEIWydwRichard

Hi Richard & All. I used to own a boomerang & I could get it to come back. It was quite heavy so had a fair momentum up when let go. The heavier the B. is & the faster it is rotating when its released, the further it goes. Critical also is the angle it's held from vertical. If you're right handed then you lean it about 5 deg to the right of 90 deg & place the 'leg' tip in the direction you want it to go. If you lose sight of it during flight its quite likely coming back straight at you & its best if you wrap your arms round your head & shut your eyes. Graeme
