I sing along to Hayley's music when I can. I am a musician, but not a singer. I especially like playing the piano along with Hayley's music.

I changed my mind about my vote! Haha I voted "Never" at first, but I realised I do love to sing along; her songs are just so nice. But I stop when it gets to the bits she does most beautifully, so I can just listen, instead of murdering the song. Those parts, I would never think of singing along to.
cheers, joanne

I don't really sing (I'm useless), however If I'm in a good mood I whistle or hum along

Joanne, the parts she sings most beautifully or the ones my voice cracks up on. I used to be able to sing higher notes, but not always as well anymore. Partly because I'm older, but also because I'm slightly out of practice.

I do quite frequently sing along to Hayley, especially when its a favorite going on. But the high notes are something I leave for Hayley to sing. My voice cracks, and that honestly does not sound nice! After all, who can do it better then Hayley right? - Anshita

It's not really good for your voice to strain it, either, so that's another reason not to do it. I was always a soprano in choirs, but some of Hayley's high notes are the wrong pitch for me. I find that my voice is more comfortable in deeper, richer notes, which are still kind of high; like the kind Orla sings. One thing to do on high notes is to relax your lower jaw and raise your soft palate, and breathe from your diapragm for more support. But even when I do that, sometimes Hayley's notes leave my throat a little sore, that is, if I do try. I usually don't, though, so I don't ruin it. :rollin

It's very enjoyable to sing along, though. I like other people to hear her music, but I like it better when I'm alone and can be free to sing along all I want.

I know most of the songs by heart, so I will usually, but often, I just want to hear Hayley.

A big thanks to those that don't sing along to Hayley if someone else might be listening. Of course, I wouldn't mind it if Hayley sings along to her own music — I wonder if she sometimes does, like if she catches herself on the radio. That would be cool to witness.

If we already love her music and sometimes sing along, I bet she does as well! Unless she hears herself on the radio right before a concert... I suppose she has to 'safe it' then.... i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Sharon*

Speaking of singing along... I know this is a behaviour much more extended into pop, and I understand that there are very good reasons for this not being common nor acceptable in the world of Classical music where Hayley is mainly involved. Yet, when I saw this video, I couldn't help thinking how special it would be for her to one day get something similar happening in one of her concerts. I mean, most of you, including myself, would never dare to sing along with her if she didn't ask us to do so (I remember there was actually some sing along in Hayley's last Winter Magic concert, but that was meant to be like that, and prepared from the start)..But on the other side, maybe someday Hayley will write such a song that we got so fond of and then we find ourselves in such a comfortable and special occasion, that it will feel right to sing those words and that music created by her, as a way to show of how much we feel the song. I think if that day comes, Hayley will really appreciate it... What do you thnk? Michal

At last nights concert, in Nottingham, Hayley invited us to sing along with her. This was "We'll meet again". Mind you, the woman beside me was humming along to several of Hayley's songs before that, much to my annoyance. And yes, some people did although I just wanted to listen to Hayley's fabulous voice.

Martin D Hi Martin I would have sang along just to say I'd sang with Hayley. We do that all the time in the states the artists seem to like it. A lot of the older folks may have been reminiscing about the war years. Larry
