Hello everybody! I met Steve Abbott in Trafalgar Square this morning. He told me they're planning to take a collection for UNICEF during the Winter Magic Tour, and he would like a couple of volunteers to hold the buckets at each concert. If you would like to help, please put your name and the venue in this thread. Hannah of Bedlam Management will be in charge of the collection, but she wasn't at Trafalgar Square. I expect she'll give us the full details in due course. Many thanks, Richard

Hello Richard
Always happy to help where possible!
As Elizabeth and I would appear to be the only ones going to Tewkesbury, it would seem logical for me to do that one, so please pass my name/details on as appropriate.
I would hope that whoever is voluteering for this very worthwhile collection will be able to get into the venue in advance of the general public, so as not to end up being sat at the back. Perhaps this can be clarified at some point.
Best wishes Grant

Hi
I'm booked for Exeter and The Barbican. I'm intending to queue early (at Exeter) so as long as I don't miss my place! I'm happy to offer. Regrettably I couldn't offer for the British Legion but they seemed well covered in my area anyway.

Put me down for Banbury and Exeter. But ask Lisa for a bucket with no hole! Martin

Well, that's two staff so far! Don't we deserve a front row seat?

Hi,
Just in case there should be not enough voluntary native speakers, I would be glad to offer me as 'fall-back' for Peterborough, Ripon, Manchester or Banbury.
Cheers, Karsten

Hi All We have heard nothing as yet from Hannah at Bedlam on the arrangements for these collections. We will leave it a few more days and if still nothing then Dave will chase Bedlam bearing in mind of course that the first concert is only 11 days away.
As soon as we hear there will be a post confirming the arrangements including I hope clarification on the concert seating for the volunteers.

Hi Jim As far as we know, the proposed Unicef collection is only for the Winter Magic tour so that would exclude Canterbury. But as we have heard nothing more from Bedlam, as yet, we can't be sure.

Hello concert-goers!
Many thanks to all the volunteers but please do not make any special arrangements about this at the moment, we still haven't had confirmation from Bedlam that it will go ahead, though I have queried it with them. So we don't yet know and I'm wondering if there's a problem with it at their end (I assume they would have to liaise with UNICEF).
If they want us to help, the ball really is in their court now but if nothing further happens between now and the first concert, we may be able to find out more at the concert. Just because nothing happens at the first concert or two doesn't necessarily mean nothing will happen at all.
Cheers, Dave

Martin Hi Martin, I did say IF, If there is not a collection for any other reason I would not mind but if the only reason was lack of a volunteer then I would be upset. Regards Jim
