Thanks for the review Ross. I am also a little confused by it... I'm not sure how this review is supposed to help consumers decide if they should buy this album... I'm not sure if there is a culture difference here, but the old English seems out of place and a little overdone.

Hi folks,
If you have cheap phone calls and some time to spare.
open a phone listing of local CD sellers and ask them if they have Christmas Magic in stock, If they go looking for your name just say you will be in their store over the weekend to pick it up, or that someone else may pick it up for you...
The Vicki Anderson Review.
Was quite amusing, not really negative, were the last few lines suggesting that Hayley be in the stocks in the town square and that we should not cast "Red and Black" stones at her ?
It must be awful to have to listen to a whole heap of Christmas CDs It's hardly groundbreaking or concept music, I can easily imagine a reviewer being driven to the bottle......
P.S.
Red and Black ...... the very underused theme from Les Mis, could have been something !

Oh goodness... I've been on a bit of an Odyssey today trying to locate 'Christmas Magic' in Australia! The only place I could find it was at JB Hi Fi -- where they had 2 copies stocked --- but the staff had lost them!! I'm going to see if some other JB Hi Fi stores has the disc tomorrow. On the plus side, the store in Brisbane City stocked a copy of 'Live in NZ' which was a real treat to find! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifSome bad news though is that a store assistant told me that the HMV / Sanity / Virgin music network in Australia isn't going to stock Christmas Magic -- except for specific orders. Apparently there's only one copy in all the group's stores in Australia at the moment. The Borders and ABC shops that I checked didn't have it either. Universal Music ... what are you doing? !!!! If I manage to get my hands on an elusive copy, I'm so opening an 'Australia' thread, just as a trophy for my hard work!

I suppose Christmas Albums are like cream cakes, They're not much use the next day.
and no retailer wants to be stuck with boxes of them in the January sales.
Just the way it is, no matter how much we like it. Some people throw out the Christmas albums along with the leftover turkey.

Hi Jillian, We've just been away for a couple of weeks in Victoria....kept away from computers. What may interest you is that Itunes Australia has Winter Magic & it includes the duet by Hayley & Ronan. Its a beautiful little song & Hayley & Ronan sound excellent together. My copy of the song is now sitting in my Itunes. Have just finished doing the lyrics: Do you remember what you wished for every Christmas Do you say a prayer and send it on our star Or maybe I'm just being over sentimental But now its Christmas & I miss us most of all
You know I never really took the time to thank you I was always thinking you would be the star Yes there's something in the air that gets me crazy Cos now its Christmas but I miss us most of all
When its cold I get lonely I can talk, I can walk, I can dream Then I dream and you hold me And the angels are singing with me I guess its Christmas when I miss us most of all
So lets chalk 'em down & drown out all my sorrows And maybe I can dance again with you Unless the children sing I swear I heard you whisper But now its Christmas & I miss us just the same
..............musical.............
When its cold I get lonely I can talk, I can walk, I can dream Then I dream and you hold me And the angels are singing with me I guess its Christmas when I miss us most of all ...................................Graeme

Hi Steve, People don't usually write like that in NZ Like others have said think she's probably been to an early xmas party or took the long way round Cathedral square via various pubs Belinda

Thanks Ross for the Christchurch Press scan. I didn't realise people still wrote that way in some parts of the world, but I kind of liked it. In fact, I will soon present my review of Winter Magic in pirate-speak. Yarrr! Ah Belinda, now I know what you meant !!!! Graeme

Just the way it is, no matter how much we like it. Some people throw out the Christmas albums along with the leftover turkey. I actually agree with you, and I think that's the only reason that can explain all this. I mean Borders NZ is not selling it, they hadn't even heard of it. Frankly, that's embarrassing. They have every CD under the sun in Borders, from the corners of the world! And they can stock their own country's top selling artist? That's not right. I guess you could argue that the store is an American company, but they're actually selling Winter Magic in Borders in America! Unbelievable. Oh well. The Warehouse, Marbecks and CD/DVD Store still stocks it, thanks goodness! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifDori

i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif I have finally seen an ad on TV for the album. It was during the TV One News at 6:50pm and was by Marbecks and it lasted about 5 seconds. It just showed the cover of the album.
