Thanks again for the welcomes, firstly Comet, I guess people do see our place as big, and I think our property is about twice the size of greater London, but if you want to see BIG, then head out through the red cent re towards WA, the properties out there are so big the they measure their properties in square miles not acres, but you have to keep in mind that most of the properties around home are just red dirt, not a lot of vegetation, our property changes from desert to lushy valleys to desert again so our stock tend to stick to the lushy parts which is why we don't worry too much about fences. And can I say Joyce your photos of Amsterdam are gorgeous, would love to visit there one day, I don't know if all Google earths are the same but when I google mine to Pack Saddle it just shows the silver city high way, we have a lovely road house there so I don't know why they didn't get a photo of that. I wonder if you all realize what a fantastic opportunity you have as a community here for visiting one another, over seas travel accommodation being so expensive you could form a lets get together thread and offer accommodation when visiting each others country, we would be more then happy to accommodate visitors in our home, and a trip to Menindee lakes which have the capacity to hold twice as much water as Sydney harbor is a must if anyone comes to visit, we water ski there and the bird life is astounding. Menindee provides Broken Hill with water. We have a little polo Cross club going that is just an inter station thing, but its great fun, And I should point out that Hayley has quiet a few fans out around home. I have to say Richard, I think your joke is a load of BULL, :je sorry had to say that. :je but never thought of useing those horns as handles, still I think Ill stick to the girth rope. But can I just say when that bull throws you into the air the thought of a juicy steak later is your only comfort. Heading home tomorrow. much love Tracy..

I have to say Richard, I think your joke is a load of BULL Hello Tracy! It could be because I'm an ox in Chinese astrology. I also enjoy a nice juicy steak occasionally, so does that make me a cannibal? I once went on a self-catering holiday and it cost me an arm and a leg! Love, Richard

Hi Tracy, Welcome to HWI I'm sure you'll love it here, I hope your Internet connection stays consistent Btw, I'm from Singapore, and where I stay, there are umm probably at least 50 households within a 200 METRE radius of my home! The kind of peace and quiet you get must be pretty amazing! See you around the forum cheers, Joanne Hi Joanne. thanks for the welcome. I assume you mean you live in an apartment block or unit, a friend of mine in Adelaide lives in an apartment, its ok, but I wouldn't like to live there permanently, she has to make sure her curtains are drawn every night and docent like sitting on her balcony because people stare . She hangs a blanket over her bathroom window so she can have it open a little to let the steam out, I just crack up. One good thing about home we have an outside high tank on 4 posts about 3 metres high with a shower head under the tank, in summer time after dad and I have been out in the saddle and covered in dust we just stop before we get to the house and dice the clothes and have a awesome shower with a 360 degree view of the property, its so relaxing and the water is always just the right temperature as its a galvanized tank warmed by the sun, early form of solar heating I can understand people not liking living in the vastness of the outback and I guess its what you have been raised to basically. I envy people that can take the city, but I honestly think we have more fun and adventure then most of our city cousins, we water ski, play polo cross, have huge cricket days, we play inter station tennis, have rodeo's that are just great and enjoy a good game of golf ending at the 19th hole, but off all the things we do the thing I really love is the camping out on a big muster, the sunsets and the starkness of the outback darkness is breathtaking but you have to be born to it I think. much love Tracy.

Hello again Tracy! I once played a round of golf. I scored 72 and I was really pleased with myself, but then my playing partner ruined it by pointing out there were still 17 holes to go! I gave up and spent the rest of the afternoon building sandcastles in a bunker! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Love, Richard

I envy people that can take the city, ................... but you have to be born to it I think. much love Tracy. I think you are right! I actually don't like living in the city either, in fact I live in a large suburb about 4 miles out, but it is handy having a city close by! I think what would scupper us is the need to plan ones requirements for a considerable period. For example, I shop several times a week for groceries - if I forget something - which I frequently do - I can "pop around the corner" get what I need and be back in a few minutes! I do like the idea of the freedom the outback gives you though. Best wishes Grant

Hi Tracy and everyone,
Yes, I'm sure Hayley, or perhaps her family or management, comes here a lot more often than you might think. I'm sure we provide valuable feedback for her. She certainly seems to know what is going on, and has sometimes acted on suggestions that have been posted here. But it is a long time since she posted anything.
I too am a country person at heart. I can't live in a city for long without getting claustrophobia, I have to get out after a few days. Perhaps it's because I grew up in the wide open spaces of our Fens. I'm sure I would love it where you are.
As for horns and things, well, I could show you my other avatar, as used on the official forum and Twitter. Exept I can't find it at the moment.
