Hello again Sharon! It's good to see you and your dog in your avatar. I've adjusted the dimensions from the default setting to 100 x 75 pixels, so your photograph is now the same size as mine. Best Wishes, Richard

Thank you Richard! I realy had to search around here for some info on how to put an avatar on your profile... I found it as you can see. I know quite a lot, but not everything if it comes to pixels and stuff. So thanks for that! Sharon

Hi and Welcome Sharon Hayley's Westenra ancestors came to Ireland from Holland in the mid 1600s... so about 10 generations ago (i just counted the # since Captain Westenra the first NZ Westenra immigrant died in 1880)... that makes her 1/1024th Dutch at least on her father's side... the family were originally wealthy merchants, and i think (speculation here) previous to that were from a town called Wassen - currently inside Germany but i think formerly was within Holland (will have to check that out again - more research needed). I found some records of a Westenra's where the surname was spelled perhaps closer to the original Dutch as well... Vesenrue... hope this is interesting for you since you are Dutch best, Peter T. PS: the area where i live, West Michigan has tons of Dutch descendants, and even a town called Holland, MI.... Thanks again you all! Yes 'Westenra' sounds a little Dutch to me. I was wondering that already... But many from NZ and Australia have Dutch ancestry...I know people who are moving to NZ later this year. And yes Jono, I also find out a few members with same age... I 'm not surprised that New Zealand is from our place Zeeland here... Zeeland is far away from where I live. I live all the way up north in 'Groningen'. Thanks again for all the lovely words! Really apreciate it! Sharon
